Jo Barnes Vintage Headpieces & Accessories

I just totally love love love meeting new Brides to Be and hearing all about their plans, especially if a vintage inspired wedding is in the planning.

One of the Brides I look forward to blogging about in the very near future, is the lovely Jo Barnes.  Jo has a bit more of a clue than most about how to pull of the pefect vintage look on your wedding day, because she is herself a designer of vintage inspired wedding accessories.

Jo started out in the trade by making her own bridal bouquet, but more about that in a few moments – I'm saving the best until last!  For now, let me tell you how Jo loves sourcing original vintage jewellery, then restoring it for her clients.  She is also one very talented vintage inspired jewellery creator – as the following images will testify…

All of Jo's vintage head bands are 'one-off's and completely unique.  Her designs are created using the finest materials, which include Swarovski crystals, Swarovski pearls and beautiful vintage jewellery pieces.  All bases are light and flexible, so they can be reshaped to fit any client and their chosen hairstyle.

Headbands are mounted on either silver or gold plated metal bases, some of which are bound with ivory or brown satin ribbon so the headband is invisible in the hair.

Look at these simply exquisite hand-crafted vintage style hair pins and hair combs…

OK, I said I'd save the best until last; the bouquets.  I LOVE Jo's website and all the beautiful and stunning items it has to offer, but of all the gorgeous products Jo has for sale, I am completely smitten with her beautifully crafted bouquets.  Look at this one for instance.  This is the bouquet that Jo has made for her own wedding.  She created it from her grandmothers pearl necklaces, brooches and even earrings all from the 1940's.  What a very clever lady indeed, and what an utterly STUNNING bouquet!

Jo's bouquest are made to order, using various types of fabric, feathers, crystals, pearls and vintage jewellery pieces – anything really, that the client wishes to incorporate.  This means that each creation is a unique one-off piece.  Matching bouquest, buttonholes and corsages can be made for the bridal party to compliment bouquet designs.

These exquisite items make me want to get married all over again and make myself pretty with all of Jo's designs.  The above represents but a fraction of what Jo has to offer too – for more, you'll have to visit Jo's website, where you can also learn more about the bespoke design service on offer.  Prices range from around £45 for a set of 3 hair pins, £105 – £150 for a vintage inspired headband and £55 to £315 for one of Jo's stunning bouquet creations.  You can also purchase brooches and jewellery.  To learn more about how to order from Jo, click here.

I wish you all the very best Jo for your forthcoming wedding in Banff, and I look forward to sharing your beautiful wedding day photographs with Love My Dress readers. (I can't wait!!!)

Much vintage love,

LMD
