I've recently discovered an exciting new Canadian Bridal Wear designer called Sarah Houston, whose vintage/old-world charm inspired gowns have really got me excited.
Sarah draws her inspiration from many sources and has created each gown with its own unique personality. Every one of her dresses has been uniquely inspired by her travels to some of the world’s most romantic places. The inspiration for many of her gowns was found in churches & cathedrals in Italy & France, in medieval villages and castles in England & Spain and in museums and art galleries throughout Europe. She appears to draw particular design inspiration from the 1920's through to the 1950's, just look at these beautiful gowns, that have been styled with accessories from Flo & Percy…
The full gallery on Sarah's website illustrations beautifully her range of designs suited to an array of personal tastes, from flirty to sensuous to classically elegant there is a dress to suit any bride’s personality and passion. To capture the essence and individuality of each gown Sarah custom designs all her own laces to create a signature look that is truly authentic & original. Lush satin crepes are mixed with silk chiffons and organzas that work beautifully together. Every gown undergoes strict and classic tailoring with meticulous attention to detail. Subtle finishing touches such as soft pleats, fluid lines and vintage cultural and artistic beadwork complete the picture.
UK suppliers are not currently listed on the website, but Sarah has contacted us to confirm that London Brides, Maroli Bridal, Quello Bride and Surrey Brides are all currently stocking her elegant works.
