Vintage Boudoir? Oooh La La!!!

Oh My GOODNESS!

This Blogging lark is SO MUCH FUN!  In the short time I've been writing for Love My Dress, I have come across some of the most amazingly creative and talented people, and somewhere, way up there amongst the very elite of them all (and Wedding TV's acclaimed favourite Photographer), sits Julia Boggio, Photographer Extrordinaire.

I don't know if you will already be aware, but Julia is a bit of a Celebrity in her own right.  Julia married Husband James in 2007 (that's them above right), and their first dance, a step-by-step recreation of the famous dirty dancing scene, has become a bit of a YouTube Phenomenon.  It has been viewed SO many times infact (almost 7 million last time I looked), that Oprah Winfrey, yes, Oprah Winfrey, invited Julia and James on to her show.  Watch the Oprah clip here and tell me you don't shed a tear when Sir Patrick Swayze appears to surprise Julia and her Husband, and ends up literally sweeping Julia off her feet!

Ahhh, God Bless you Patrick, swoon…

The reason I want to Blog about the very talented Julia Boggio today, is because of a FABULOUS new service she has launched for all you vintage lovers out there; the Vintage Boudoir Shoot…

How much fun!?

Julia says "Sometimes I look at pictures of women from the 1940s and 50s and think, 'How in the world did they have time to look like that every day???' I’ve always wished that I had the time to spend making myself up to Stepford Wife standards, but, if the truth be known, most days I’m lucky if I have a minute to slap on a little mascara.  Perhaps that is why I’ve always been fascinated by design, fashion and styling from that era. With that in mind, earlier this year I started to explore the wonderful world of pin-up photography.  Pin up is so much more erotic than a lot of modern boudoir, which often shows too much. Pin up is all about tantalising the viewer with what’s being covered up, but saying ‘I’m cheeky and sexy’ in the expression. And it’s a hell of a lot more fun!"

I love her already!

Some more foxy ladies….

Julia's pin up, or Vintage Boudoir, experience has been created to give women that beautiful 1940s feeling without the need of a time machine. Julia has her own resident team of hair and make-up professionals that will create the classic pin-up look for you too. Julia will then work her magic, creating a series of tongue-in-cheek shots.  Anyone nervous about being semi-naked and dolled up to the nines in front of the camera needn't worry – an abundant supply of Prosecco is onsite at all times to help relax Julia's subjects!
