A Beautiful Smile On A Beautiful Sunny Wedding Day In Scotland…

There are so many real weddings waiting to be featured on Love My Dress, but, there is something about the wedding or Ruth and Euan; could it be that the Bride has the most radiant smile I've seen in a good long while, or how the love that was so clearly evident on this couple's happy day spills forth from each photograph, or might it be those fabulous shoes?  And besides, I think it's about time we sprinkled a little bit of glamour amidst the pages of this here little Style Diary, because anyone who manages to pull off a stunning fascinator like THAT is pretty darn glamorous in my books! And, I have a thing for Brides in red lipstick – it's a clear winner – glam & gorgeous!

Thank you to the lovely Caroline Weiss, of Candysnaps Photography for being so sweet and enthusiastic and happily sharing her beautiful photography with Love My Dress

The Bride Getting Ready... Bespoke Fascinator from Eleganza Sposa...

Ruth and Euan formally committed a lifetime of love to one another during a beautiful wedding ceremony on 31 May 2009, at St Anthony's Church in Balfron, Scotland, followed by a ceremony in Ruth's Brothers garden.  As soon as the date for Ruth and Euan's wedding was set, they were both determined to have a day that was relaxed, informal and fun.  And I think these photographs proudly illustrate that they indeed had their perfect day.

Getting ready – oh how I love those little Bridesmaid/Flower girl dresses – I recognised them instantly, because I've drooled over them many times (they are from Monsoon Children) – and, my flower girls wore those very same cute little pink ballet pumps on my wedding day :)…

Ruth's absolutely beautiful dress was Manuel Mota, from Eleganza Sposa in Glasgow…

Manual Mota Wedding Dress...

"I was sure I didn’t want a traditional wedding dress, and had been thinking of a vintage look. However, I had a day out shopping with my Mum, sisters and my sister-in-law in Glasgow. We had an appointment in Eleganza Sposa, and I was helped by Anna. She asked me to try a dress on, as she thought it might be perfect for me. At first I was unsure, as I didn’t want a strapless dress. Then I tried it on and my sister-in-law Libby almost leaped out of her seat. It seemed just right for the type of wedding we were having, so I bought it! Anna was absolutely amazing and helped me visualise and create the look for the day".

What a beautiful and stylish fascinator – a real statement piece!  Both bespoke pieces, also from Eleganza Sposa

"I felt so happy and excited. I could see Euan and all our friends and family, it was a wonderful feeling..."

"We loved every minute. During the ceremony our highlights were sharing our vows, the spontaneous clapping and the relaxed atmosphere right through the service.  Euan’s Aunt Christine sang ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ as we signed the register, and we walked out the church to a Primal Scream track".

Ruth's Brother offered his Garden as a backdrop for the reception.

"The garden is really beautiful, and we both felt it would be the perfect place to have a great party and create the sort of informal atmosphere that we wanted"

The Reception was held in Ruth's Brother's garden...

"Our photographer, Caroline, was fantastic. We both loved the natural, spontaneous feel to her photography. The formal photos took no longer than ten minutes, as we both wanted to get back to our guests. Luckily it was such a beautiful day, which meant that Caroline got some amazing shots in the garden. One of my favourites has got to be me on the trampoline with my nieces and nephews – that was hilarious!"..

Very pretty Bridesmaids dresses indeed!

"We got those in Karen Millen. The girls and I had a day out shopping at the end of May last year. We met up at 10am, had bought the dresses by 11am and were drinking fizzy by noon – perfect!"

This is a girl after my own heart! 🙂 …

"We wanted a local florist and both loved the ethos of Snapdragon. Jane grows all the flowers in her own garden, therefore everything is in season. She was really helpful too, she did a wonderful job.  We got a £200 wedding cake from M&S, which looked amazing and tasted great too!"

There's a definitely 'fabulous shoe' theme going on here.  Ruth's shoes were LK Bennett.

And I used to do just the same thing there on the right :)  There's something about the clippety clop of high-heels when you're 7.  Made me feel all grown up it did…

SHOES!! ... LK Benett.... I used to do that see! Every little girl likes a good pair of high heels to play in ;) ...

During the speaches...

"Our first dance was Mazzy Star – ‘Fade Into You’. It’s a beautiful song that we both love."
