Of late, we've had some really beautiful weddings (more on the way!), Fashion Illustrations, some fabulous competitions, shockingly fabulous Millinery, even vintage typewriter key jewellery. I think it's time we balanced our content with a little something different ~ something of the 'paper' variety. How about some sweet Sugalily Stationery?

I'm a total fuss-pot when it comes to paper. I like only the best, highest quality I can get my hands on. And pretty little note-lets and thank you cards too. And being so picky, I knew I was on to something pretty good when I discovered Sugalily and their fabulous vintage-inspired stationery designs.
I caught up with Abbey Warner, the lady behind the Sugalily brand, to find out more about her pretty, stylish stationery. Abbey has been designing stationery since 2004, but launched her Sugalily brand in 2007...
"I started designing greetings cards and sending them to friends and family who encouraged me to give up my corporate London life, so I did! (my MA Degree is in Human Resources with a specialism in talent management/high performance)"
"Whether a Bride's taste is more boho than Bergdorff, we can cater to every wedding style and budget. We have some signature Sugalily wedding designs including Agatha, Stella and Celine, but we also offer a bespoke design service for Brides who want to create something individual."
"All our wedding stationery is beautifully printed on luxury FSC materials and finished to your individual preference. Our ranges include save the date, day and evening invites, RSVP, order of service, seating plan, menu, name cards, table name cards, guest book and thank you cards. Each range can be adapted to suit your individual colours and text can be changed to suit your needs."
"In addition to stationery, we also offer a full bridal styling service, from working with suppliers on the brides behalf to purely working with the Bride, providing a source of inspiration. Each commission is bespoke and a meeting to discuss requirements is essential. A full portfolio is available upon request."
I love Sugalily's vintage inspired stationery, and was curious to know what inspired Abbey when she sets out to design...
"Generally, I am inspired by fashion ~ I am Vogue, Harpers and Tatler-aholic and I usually start by getting lots of clippings and sorting them out into colour or theme and creating (very messy) mood-boards, which i will then use as a starting point. After that, there really is no process its where ever my mind takes me!"And as well as Sugalily's off-the-peg designs, a bespoke designs service is also available ~ Abbey told me that Sugalily can produce "literally anything the brides heart (and budget!) desires!"
I was also keen to know if Abbey is aware of any trends emerging for wedding stationery in 2010...
"I think that there are two divides in my customers which I am using as a benchmarks for trends, customers who want to watch every penny (quite rightly) and are opting for 'DIY' services (We have our own 'Little Lily' service) and also brides who want something different, bored with english country/vintage look who want something more luxe, with an indie vibe."
And does Abbey have a personal favourite when it comes to her Sugalily designs?
"Yes, the Agatha collection is my favourite and all my customers!"And of Green credentials? I mean, a stationery business must get through one whole lotta paper, right? I was comforted when Abbey explained this...
"At sugalily we always attempt to be thoughtful to the environment and local economies; all of our products are lovingly manufactured in the UK and we have a very strict supply chain, designed with the environment in mind at all times. As a minimum, our papers are FSC Accredited and are a percentage recyclable.
"Most of the papers that we use are manufactured in the Lake District; The mill is strongly committed to helping protect the area’s outstanding natural beauty and holds the highest environmental accreditations and is located on a class 1 trout fishing river, which shows how clean the water that is put back into the river is.
"Our packaging is always compostable and all of our waste is recycled. Our printers, the wonderful purely digital, are a carbon neutral business and we also support local home workers and work at home mothers."
I'm impressed! And think you will be too. Visit the Sugalily website for further information. Sugalily are exhibiting at Top Drawer, Harrogate Home and Gift and the Designer Wedding Show events.
