And HAPPY VALENTINE! I hope that today is filled with love and romance for you all.
Have you had a good week? Mine has been a mixed bag, I've not been too well but managed to make it to the wonderful Designer Wedding Show on Friday with a friend (a real treat for me it was). I absolutely loved it and finally got to meet my friends Lisa and Tania from Magpie Vintage- what fabulous women! There were many highlights for me and I've detailed them all in a report I've written, which is linked to further down in this post.
Have you noticed, the cold is BACK! We've had almost sub-zero temperatures this week and a titchy bit of snow in the North East too. Time for the hot water bottles and blankets - of the glamorous variety it goes without saying! :)
Lee 'Alexander' McQueen...I was incredibly shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of this genius of a man earlier this week. The life of Lee Alexander McQueen, born March 1969, was one of true 'rags-to-riches' that inspired so many, and will continue to do so for many, many years.
His catwalk shows were always a lavish spectacle and I always considered his designs more like works of art, than anything else. And I loved that McQueen was true to himself, at all times; earning the press title of 'l'enfant terrible and on other occasions, 'the hooligan of English fashion', Alexander McQueen was original, and unconventional and shone out like a beautiful bright star in the sky in amidst his peers.
Here are some video's of Alexander's work - I've included both in previous Sunday Servings, but they seemed a fitting way to celebrate the talent of this wonderful British Fashion Designer.
Rest in Peace Mr McQueen and prayers for the Father, three Sisters and two Brothers that you leave behind...

It's Valentines!...and what was I doing this time last year? Trying to prevent my heels from sinking into the sand on a photoshoot during my Hen Weekend! So maybe I do look a little like an over-fluffed, sunburned chicken, but, we had FUN, and that's all that matters. Never have I laughed so hard in my whole entire life, or enjoyed the company of such fabulous women :)

Our venue was 'Moo House' on the North East Coast. It was COLD, but the wood burning fire kept us warm. We somehow managed to polish off almost 2 cases of vintage champagne on the very first night and went on to enjoy a chef cooked meal on our 2nd evening, followed by lots of fabulous cocktails. My funniest memory is of my friend dancing to 'Fire Starter' by the Prodigy and falling over just as she was seriously getting in to her moves. My ribs ACHED from laughing!! (love you Jackie!!).
I made every one of my hens a goody bag and filled it with a menagerie of goodies, including a mini bottle of champagne and a plastic champagne flute, some love hearts, girly moisturiser & self-heating facial, chocolates, cheeky straws and the all essential nipple tassles. Tasteful ones, of course ;)
Told you it was fun! ... :)
