Vintage Cherish The Dress™ ~ Bookings Now Available

We should all, by now, be familiar with the concept of 'Trash the Dress'; the photoshoot opportunity where newlywed Brides choose to literally 'trash' their dress in any number of fun, spontaneous or often, very carefully planned out extravaganzas!  The concept of Trash the Dress originated in America and has been particularly popular there in recent years, as any number of Brides have opted to paint-ball, go swimming in or generally tear up their wedding gown on the beach.   But a growing number of Brides these days are opting to do exactly the opposite, and celebrate their wedding gown in a special Cherish the dress photoshoot.

Earlier this week, Love My Dress caught up with the creator and pioneer of Cherish the dress, Photographer Chris Hanley, to talk about a brand new service that launched earlier this week, that takes the whole concept of Cherish the dress to a stylish new and vintage inspired level.  Chris has also kindly offered readers of Love My Dress an exclusive deal, read on to find out more!

"Cherish the dress is now an established genre of photography; we have had many clients including celebrities
eager to experience our concept, The shoots have been shot in many
places around Europe.
With the growing popularity for all things Vintage, we have enhanced our brand to include Vintage Cherish the dress. The selection of images you see on this page was inspired by the classic British Film, Brief Encounter."

"The concept of Cherish the dress is to put a thoroughly British twist on the very American ‘Trash the Dress’ concept ~ Many Brides can't abide the idea of ruining a dress that they have
paid many thousands of pounds for. But it's not just about the money ~
these days, respect for the dress designer is a key factor too.  After
all, a dress has usually taken hours and hours of design, before being
crafted into a beautiful garment."

"Cherish the dress isn't just about wedding dresses though, Why not any dress,
even a prom dress ~ another American tradition that has crossed the
Atlantic in the past few years?  So we set about creating a concept
where everyone is a winner and came up with the brand
Cherish the dress together with the slogan – ‘Make your dress a star, not the
victim’."

"The shoots happen in fine hotels, penthouse apartments, city centre
cafés, and if the weather is fine then urban exteriors too.  There are
no wedding day pressures, no weather worries, and plenty of time to get
the hair and make up perfect between shots."

"Concentrating the
shoots in locations of splendour, beauty and opportunity maximise the
client’s enjoyment of wearing their dress again."

"It’s not just a girls shoot either, we get husbands and boyfriends
involved too. It’s a bit like a very dressy pre wedding shoot but post
wedding or post event. There’s room for passion and romance too.
There’s time to use off camera lighting creatively and a fantastic
opportunity to put together a collection of fine art prints."
