One of the best things about Blogging is making new connections with people – I always get that jitter of excitement when I discover a new Photographer, but especially when they turn out to be as nice as Lisa Devlin.
Lisa is a talented wedding Photographer based in Brighton, who has recently launched a Vintage Wedding Photography service. We'll be featuring an interview with Lisa in the next few days, but for now, we were keen to share with you one of Lisa's recent commissions, a wonderful winter wedding that took place just 5 days before Christmas last year.
The Bride and Groom are Maddie and Nick and they tied the knot at Ashdown Park Country House Hotel in East Sussex. And well, I don't mean to tempt fate or anything, especially with the onset of the warmer weather, but remember when it was like this just a few weeks ago? Crisp snow underfoot, beautiful bright days that make the most gorgeous back-drop for a winter wedding…

Maddie's beautiful wedding gown was 'Grace Kelly', by David Fielden, which she purchased from Leonie Claire, in Brighton.
"I loved that it was different to everything else I tried on and I particularly liked the idea that Grace Kelly was the inspiration for the dress as she is such an icon…"
Well we adore Grace Kelly too Maddie and we like your way of thinking – and your choice of perfume…
Maddie's sparkly shoes were by Benjamin Adams, from Girls of Elegance – all her Bridesmaids shoes were from Barratts…
Naturally beautiful…
Maddie did not require a hair or makeup artist on her wedding day. We can see why…
Maddie's Tiara was from Leonie Claire in Brighton and her earrings were Tiffany – borrowed for the day from her Sister and Chief Bridesmaid, Abi.
Pretty in Purple…
"As we wanted a winter wedding we felt that we wanted to focus on candlelight, romance and vintage. Nick loves colour so it was important to have a strong colour theme and we were thrilled with the end result of our purple scheme."
Maddie and Nick's wedding rings were from Ring Bespoke Jewellery Specialists in Brighton…
This gorgeous snow white wedding day was decorated with the most gorgeous colour of purple. The fabulous Bridesmaids dresses were by Dessy (Dress 6512 in African Violet). The Bridesmaids hair accessories were made to order, by Abi-Lou Creations…
I'm in love with Maddie's bouquet. All the flowers on the day were provided by Donal at Pollen…
Waiting Patiently…
Nick's extremely smart suit and accessories were from Gresham Blake in Brighton
Songbird…
Eva Cassidy's Songbird was the soundtrack to Maddie's walk down the aisle…
Stunning Winter Wedding Scenes…
Oh but hang on a moment, I thought I saw a pair of dainty heels earlier on….?
Aha, good thinking Maddie! 🙂
I just adore how Photographer Lisa has made use of the wonderful natural light outside…
The cakes were provided by The Angel Food Bakery in the Brighton Lanes…
"We really liked the idea of cupcakes for the wedding as it is so easy for guests to help themselves. We also had a cutting cake so we could pose for 'cutting of the cake' photos!"
Feeling Lucky…
Maddie and Nick chose the Jason Mraz track 'Lucky' for their first dance…."it said everything we were feeling!"
What an exceptionally beautiful day – so cold outside and yet the photographs are so warm and full of love.
Thank you so much Maddie for sharing your style secrets, and to the extremely lovely, and very talented Photographer Lisa Devlin for allowing us to reproduce her magic on Love My Dress.
Warm wishes to anyone planning a Winter Wedding Wonderland! 🙂
