A Beautiful Indian Bride in Blue…

Morning everyone! I wanted to kick start the week with something beautiful.  I am well aware this blog is synonymous with the more 'vintage' style wedding, but the Love My Dress wedding blog has also been established to celebrate everything 'glamorous and gorgeous' and all those things in between – read the strap-line above folks, it's been there since the start!

And this is a gorgeous wedding if ever I saw one.

Shot by the hugely talented Cheshire and Manchester Photographer Tobiah Tayo, this is the wedding of James and his beautiful Indian Bride Aman, who married on 28 May this year at Hogarths Hotel in Dorridge, which was chosen by the couple due to the large outdoor spaces, unusual setting for the service on an island, great quality food and because James and Aman "knew that the hotel would deliver us a spectacular day".

And judging by these photographs, how it did so!

I'd just like to say a very special thank you to Photographer Tobiah.  Tobiah burst on to my radar about two months ago when he dropped me an email introducing himself and his photography.  I have been a huge fan ever since.  Tobiah is one of those new, up and coming talents whose name you want to watch, especially when one of the Masters of Photography himself, Damien Lovegrove (who I'm meeting next week – eek!), describe him as being "the rising star of the north".  Incidentally, Tobiah is a sponsor of this site, however, absolutely none of the 'real weddings' I feature are sponsored/paid for features – they are selected for showcasing purely because they fit what I perceive as the essence of Love My Dress, and because I believe they will appeal to my readers.

So on that note folks, enjoy… :)

Aman's simply stunning Indian Wedding dress was a one-off, unique creation, designed and made in India…

I've said it before, Tobiah takes the most elegant 'shoe' shots.  Aman's shoes were by Dune.

Groom James described Tobiah's photographs to me as "sImply stunning images" with "great use of light, both natural and strobe…"

James and Aman hired the string quartet Bellini Strings to entertain guests as they waited for the arrival of the Bride…

"Aman walked in to Ave Maria.  We also had 'It Must be Love', 'The Bare Necessities', 'A Whole New World' and several other contemporary songs.  The string quartet also played a selection of classic Bollywood film soundtracks."

"We wanted our day to be as relaxed as possible, and for it to be as much for our guests to enjoy as it was for us.  We avoided anything too formal and made the day as lively as possible with fun music, entertainment and finally the fireworks…"

James and Aman's cake was designed by Flour Power Cakes, and chosen because of it's unusual design.  "The bottom layer was actually polystyrene, due to our preference for having fruit cake as a middle layer.  There was a separate carrot cake which was identical to the layer you see in the pic, so nobody knew about the fake layer…until now!"…

Ooops! 🙂

"Our first dance was to 'In Your Light' by Jon Allen.  We didn't want a cliche first dance song, and we felt the words to this beautiful song fitted our day perfectly…"

Words of Wisdom?

"Plan plan plan!  We used a spreadsheet to track our budget and also our guest acceptances."

Wow, just another beautiful wedding here at Love My Dress!

Thanks again to Tobiah and thank you too to newlywed James for providing me with all the detail 🙂

More on the way this week 🙂
