UK Alliance of Wedding Planners – Helping You Find Your Wedding Planner…

I was reading through a ‘real wedding questionnaire’ that one of the Bride’s I’ll be featuring soon sent back to me recently, and in the section where I ask what tips the Bride would pass on to others, she wrote in capital letters ‘HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER!!’.  There are so many benefits to hiring a wedding planner.  I didn’t hire one and looking back, I wished that I had, for on so many occasions, it would have alleviated a barrel of stress and freed up SO much extra time for me in the run up to my wedding day.

Tiffany Grant-Riley, Vintage Wedding Planner, wrote an excellent article for Love My Dress on the benefits of hiring a wedding planner that is well worth a read.  Today, I’d like to introduce you to the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners {UKAWP}- an alliance of wedding planners that was founded to promote professionalism in wedding planning – achieved through membership, training courses and specialises events aimed at building the member planners knowledge and expertise.

I spoke to one of the three Wedding Planners behind the running of this Association, Bernadette Chapman…

“A wedding is the most personal and important event in a couple’s life and those involved have a duty to act with integrity and honesty.

As the wedding industry is unregulated, the UKAWP provides a route for brides to find a responsible and reputable wedding planner in her areaall members listed in our directory are vetted through our strict entrance requirements and abide by our code of ethics…”

Looking for a Wedding Planner?

“One of the main reasons for the existence of the UKAWP is to act as a reliable reference point for you, the bride. If you are looking for a professional wedding planner, this is the place for you.

All
of our members have proven their professionalism and experience before
being accepted. They all offer a consultation where you can discuss your
wedding in detail and how they may be able to help you.

“Ideally, you should contact two or three companies prior to making a decision. For more guidelines on how to select a reputable planner, please click here.

Just as every bride is different, every member varies in the exact
services they offer, and will appeal to different clients, however you
can be assured that all conduct their business in a professional manner.  Please rest assured all members have met our entry criteria and comply with our code of ethics* before they can be accepted into the
UKAWP.

For more details of these, please visit our membership page here…”
