Vintage Scoops – 1950’s Retro Style Icrecream Van Treats!

I LOVE hearing about women in business success stories (Dragons Den ADDICT here folks! Check out these two inspirational business women pitching their ideas to the Dragons; Angel Adoree and her wonderful Vintage Patisserie {soon to be featured on Love My Dress} and Kirsty Henshaw of Worthenshaws – see from approx 43 minutes into the video).

Today we're talking ice-cream – 'Vintage Scoops' no less! 🙂

Vintage Scoops is the name behind a retro-style ice-cream van hire business for weddings and other celebrations, established by Entrepreneur, Hayley Southwood.  Hayley entered a competition ran by Country Homes &
Interiors and beat off stiff competition from
around the UK to win a £6,000 prize to establish her business, which she was inspired to start
when a friend tried and failed to hire an ice-cream van for
her wedding reception.

Hayley’s adorable renovated 1973 Bedford CF ice-cream van 'Betty', is decked out in pretty 1950s
style pale blue and cream and decorated with floral bunting. Betty offers delicious local ice cream, favourite ice lolly flavours,
old-fashioned drinks such as ginger beer, cloudy lemonade and dandelion
and burdock, plus retro sweets.

"It’s a trip down memory lane for some guests, but great
for keeping the little ones happy, too. It’s a unique addition to a
wedding…"

Vintage Scoops is the perfect complement to a country or town wedding,
and creates some great opportunities for photographs of the day.  Hayley serves the treats dressed in
vintage-style florals to complement her van…

Hayley has always had a passion for anything vintage, kitsch or
retro. This developed into a desire to own her own ice cream van, packed
with traditional treats, in which to roll down to the local village
fête, wedding or garden party. This dream came to fruition when she
discovered 'Betty'.

Betty, named after Hayley's Grandma,has
been lovingly restored and decorated in beautiful shades of pale blue
and cream. To complete the authentic 1950's feel, Betty is decked out in Cath
Kidston
oilcloth and festooned with bunting.

Infact, Betty is so popular with Hayley's customers, that she now has her own 'Follow Betty' page on the Vintage Scoops website!
