The latest press release to hit my inbox sounded very exciting, I just had to share – and if you are in the Sheffield or surrounding area, this one is definitely for you! 🙂
Four local wedding suppliers have teamed together to bring Sheffield its first Vintage Bridal Soiree at The Chimney House, Kelham Island on Thursday 30th September 2010 with all the proceeds going to help Sheffield Children's Hospital.
Blanche Duggleby from Coco Catering, Jennie Beard from Hansley Beard, Anna Potter from Swallows and Damsons and Laura Green from Little White Book have come together to share their passion and appreciation of all things vintage, and they will be showcasing some of the city’s most exclusive wedding suppliers to members of the public.
The evening will let people see the current vintage trends including vintage style wedding cakes, a section of historical attire, antique crockery, a candy buffet, local wedding planners, bridal flowers, fairground food and mouth watering cocktails. There will also be a medley of entertainment including local Jazz singer Emily West, City Magicians, Fire Eaters and live caricatures by Richard Smith
Blanche of Coco Catering said “We wanted to create an event that was authentically vintage, that would appeal to brides and have a unique and distinctive style. We felt a Victorian Fairground Theme would compliment the Victorian venue and would allow us to have lots of fun creating a spectacular event…”

The event is being held at The Chimney House, Kelham Island on Thursday
30th September 2010 between 6 and 10pm and tickets are on sale at £5.00
each with all proceeds going to Sheffield Children's Hospital.
Laura from Little White Book said “We wanted to create hype around
the vintage trends which are out at the moment within the wedding
industry, and are continuing to show within the upcoming 2011
collections."
Jennie from Hansley Beard went on to say “We wanted to give people
the opportunity to experience an interactive evening with the theme of
vintage weddings. Even the venue for the event is steeped in history so
what better place to hold it”
