A Bride And Her Glasses…

It's Friday! I'm not sorry to say that I feel truly happy to be alive today 🙂 Looking outside, I'm greeted with a vision of the most perfect Autumnal morning – a beautiful bright blue sky that is peppered with long drawn out clouds, dragged across the skies by the cool breeze that is wafting in through the window and giving me a gentle wake up call to get outside and embrace the day! I LOVE Autumn – it's my favourite season and time of year for so many reasons {pumpkin soup!!}. And I would imagine that it will forever be a very special time for today's real wedding couple too, as they celebrate their October wedding anniversary in the years to come.

Laura and Charlie tied the knot on 2nd of this month with a ceremony at Randolph Hall, of Glasgow University.  I just love this wedding from the first moment I saw it.  Scottish Wedding Photographer Caroline Weiss of Candsnaps Photography has done a beautiful job of capturing the emotion (and the Bride's smile!) and I just love that dress and feathered cape! I also love the slightly aged, vintage look of these photographs – their retro appeal somehow adds new depth to the images, the colours are wonderful.

Now, I love Laura's dress, but I love even more that this Bride hasn't felt any pressure not to be 'her' on her wedding day, and that she worked her look around her glasses; "My dress, no, actually my glasses inspired my wedding day look! I had to be able to wear them or I would not have been me on the day, and it all came from there really!"

Laura's beautiful 1950s style dress was by Eleganza Sposa

"as soon as I tried this dress on, I started swishing the skirt and thought ' I can dance in this!' they then added the feather cape and it just felt so me. I loved the classic style of the dress and the feathers just gave it some zing!

The rings exchanged by the couple were by Shona Carnegie"Shona is a friend of my Aunt Kate and she made a necklace for my mum's birthday for me in the past. I really like her style and was keen to have someone we knew make our rings. She moved to the French Alps and we still managed to meet up and discuss what we wanted, unfortunately not in the Alps though!!"

The couples cake was from Marks and Spencer! … "a fruit, a sponge and most importantly a chocolate layer!  The play mobile people were Charlie's when he was little and one day early on in our relationship the little blonde Doctor (that's me!) fell out of the box – it was fate! The cat came from ebay, and is our cat Garfunkel – he is an important member of our wee family…"

I super LOVE the next three photographs!

"On the morning of the wedding I woke up and thought 'It's today!!!' (I think I may have jumped on the bed!). I wasn't nervous, but was worried Charlie would be, until I saw his big smiling face at the end of the aisle!  We really both had a fab time and loved seeing so many of our friends and family  enjoying themselves together."

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Take breaks!! We had a 'few weeks on, few weeks off' policy which worked well in the earlier stages. The weekend before the wedding, we had a day off together where no wedding chat was allowed. We cycled around the Isle of Cumbrae on a tandem and it was just great.
