Being a Wedding Blogger, I find myself in the very privileged position at times, of getting to see things or learn about exciting things happening in the wedding industry, well in advance of them becoming public knowledge. But today, I'm going to let you in on something…
Earlier this week, I was contacted by Love My Dress sponsors, Lindsay Fleming Couture, who wanted to share with me some sketches from their up and coming new 1950's inspired collection of wedding dresses.
The collection is still in the design stages, but how completely beautiful are these images? The charming full-circle skirt number below with delicately hand-painted roses (yes, hand-painted!) onto the very best of thai silk fabric would look absolutely wonderful on any Bride who favours the 50's style. With a corseted bodice and gathered sash around the waist that finishes with a bow at the back, I can imagine any Bride wearing this would look and feel very Grace Kelly elegant…

The aptly named 'Manhattan Collection' (so 'Sex And The City' chic!) will comprise of fourteen 1950's inspired designs and will be launched in February 2011, as successor to the hugely successful and highly original 1920's inspired 'All That Jazz' collection (also see here).
I have full permission to share these gorgeous designer sketches with you. Anyone in love with the 50's era and planning an era inspired wedding, ought consider commissioning Lindsay Fleming Couture to produce one of these beautiful designs for their wedding. I just absolutely adore this little thai silk 50's inspired jacket, adorned with hand-painted roses to match the dress above; team this up with a pair of little white lace dress gloves and a cute vintage clutch bag and you'd look the picture of Audrey Hepburn chic…..
What about this beautiful Thai silk 50's inspired dress with very full skirt and scooped neck-line. Adorned with embroidered ribbon border and ribbon trim under bust – buttoned at the back. You wouldn't need to go finding that extra 'something blue' thats for certain…
Thai silk 50's inspired dress, with a full skirt, trimmed around the hem with hand-painted lilies is so pretty! The corseted bodice accentuates the waist area lifting the eyes to a row of very pretty hand-made silk flowers…
I love this chiffon 50's inspired dress with full skirt and ruched bodice and shawl collar. And I love even more that it is adorned with hand-made rose buds….
And you need look no further for Grace Kelly inspired bridal glamour – this beautiful sketch illustrates a thai silk 50's inspired figure hugging dress, with silk satin sash and train. The bodice and skirt will be overlayed with guipure lace…
And the final sneak peek that I've chosen to share with you is this truly elegant design – a full circle skirted gown (lots of tull!) trimmed with guipure lace flowers and adorned with swarovski crystals for that extra special sparkle…
This is just a glimpse of this beautiful collection that oozes elegance and chic 50's style.
