Mad Men and Vintage Ladies…

Happy Sunday afternoon 🙂 Is this the first time you've stopped by the Love My Dress Wedding Blog this weekend? If so, be sure to pop over and see this très romantique vintage Parisian Street Chic feature, and this post which illustrates how you can enjoy a vintage hen party celebration with a twist.  And once you've done that, come back here and enjoy these latest photographs from the gorgeous Photographer that is Leeds Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer, Cat Hepple.

Once again, I'm so excited to be featuring newcomer Cat Hepple's Photography on Love My Dress.  Cat made her first appearance on this wedding loving blog earlier this week, with her vintage inspired bridal fashion shoot at Denton Hall – a real hit with our readers. Today, Cat continues to inspire with a Mad Men inspired photoshoot…

"The thinking behind this shoot was how to create something of the look of the cult series Mad Men for your wedding day. I  adore the series, and the styling of the show, the curves of the women and the stylish suits of the chaps, so I got to work with Lucy Playford of Williams Hart Weddings, and we set about finding a venue with a 50/60s vibe and suppliers who could help re-create the elegant and chic look of the time. This was not about replicating the show, more about translating some of the details into a wedding day look…"

"None of our models were professional, they were volunteers and none were typical model sizes either, I wanted to show real sized women looking fabulous and glamorous. I also wanted Grooms to see they can look stylish and full of attitude on the day.

I'm very influenced by fashion in my photography and that includes wedding imagery, so this was a chance for me to show how a stylised look can be achieved in just a few minutes on your wedding day; none of the sets of images took more than 20 minutes to create and in most instances it was captured far more quickly than that. I used some movie style lighting and natural light to work the Hollywood look, sophisticated and elegant, but with a little smouldering too…"

Smouldering indeed Cat.  Smokin' HOT I'd say! …

"The images using the car have a different approach, in that I was trying to move away from the typical wedding images you often see in a car. I wanted these to tell a story, for the viewer to be drawn in, wondering where they might be going, and why? The posing is not typical for wedding imagery either, but again this was about showing Brides and Grooms what can be achieved with some imagination and creativity on their wedding day…"

Gorgeous huh? And I love the way Cat is challenging the conventional type wedding shot and experimenting with something more stylised, and, if you ask me, really rather sensational!

Huge thanks go out to the whole team involved in pulling together this glamorous photoshoot – but extra special thanks to Cat Hepple for allowing her beautiful photographs to be featured on Love My Dress – and you can see more of mer Cat Hepple's Photography on Love My Dress here.
