Good morning people! Time for another beautiful real wedding on Love My Dress. This latest addition to the fabulous collection of Real Weddings on Love My Dress celebrates the coming together of Sharon and Will, who got married on 11 September this year at Sharon's parents farm, near Tiverton in Devon.
This wedding is a little different to most that I see submitted to Love My Dress, in that the ceremony was a secular (non-religious) one. Sharon told me, "…the central part of our wedding was the ceremony which we worked with an organisation called 'Once Arts and Ceremonies' to create. We knew a church wedding wasn't for us and a humanist ceremony didn't feel quite right for us either. We then heard about Once , who create very personal secular ceremonies.
Our celebrant was amazing and worked with us for many months before the wedding to create the most unique and magical ceremony. It was such an enlightening and empowering process and also helped us really prepare mentally for the step we were about to take."
This lovely wedding was submitted by London documentary wedding photographer and wedding photojournalist, Mark Carey, and you can see more Mark Carey Photography on the Love My Dress Wedding Blog here. There are so many elements of this wedding that I love; the Bride's pretty loose up-do, the gorgeous bouquet, the Tipis, the pretty vintage style dress and the quite beautiful and unusual ceremony…

"I actually lost my shoes on the morning of the wedding and didn't find them in time! I luckily had a pair of ivory shoes from my sister's wedding and they actually seemed to go much better with my dress that the one's I bought!"
Sharon's beautiful dress was a Manuel Mota for Pronovias from Parham House Brides in Dunster on Exmoor...
"Exmoor is very special to me so I was so pleased to be able to get my dress from there! Unfortunately this dress is a few seasons old (think 2008) and is no longer available new and seems quite rare to find second hand. I'd tried on so many dresses and none felt like 'me'. I had an idea that I wanted something with a bit of a vintage feel and with lace but just could not seem to find the right dress. Just when I was loosing heart I remembered someone mentioning the shop above and the dress felt right instantly!"
The lovely fuschia pink Bridesmaids dresses were from Coast…
Will wore a suit by Johnathan Hawkes…
Sharon's parents farm near Tiverton in Devon was the chosen wedding venue…
"This is where I'd always dreamt of getting married as it's where I grew up and one of the most beautiful places I know. The ceremony was in the front garden which has amazing views – you can see for miles and you feel like you're on top of the world. The reception was held in tipis in a field next to the house. We are both from Devon and wanted to celebrate where we grew up. We met and lived in London for six years and have just moved back to Devon so it felt very fitting. Everything seemed to follow on from there really…"
Sharon walked down the 'aisle' to 'Northern Sky', by Nick Drake. BIG Nick Drake fan here…. 🙂
Such a pretty English Rose…
The couple's rings were by Robert Price of Exeter – chosen as they are a local company and according to Sharon, super helpful
I LOVE these flowers – like a collection of a little bit of everything that nature has to offer from a delightful countryside walk…
"My florist was our wonderful neighbour, Jane. My mum and Jane collected gorgeous flowers from different people's gardens, wheat from fields (with permission of course!) and also grew some wildflowers, like the cornflowers in my bouquet. I collected all sorts of jars and bottles for the table arrangements."
This beautiful non-religious wedding celebration culminated in an afternoon and evening of good food and partying inside these stunning Tipi tents, supplied by World Inspired Tents…
"Along with lots of my friends and work colleagues I made these gorgeous paper flowers – we used them to decorate the tipis and garden…"
"Our cake was made by Will's brother in law who's not a baker but is just very good at cakes – it was fantastic and was piled high with sweets and all sorts of treats…"
Sharon and Will's first dance was to 'Do you Realize', by The Flaming Lips…
"This was a song that Will put on a mix CD for me when we were first going out – it was the first time I heard it and I love it!"
I just love these shots below of the couple walking off past these magical fairylights!
Words of Wedded Wisdom?…
"When people offer to help, take them up on it!"
Thanks so much Sharon for sharing your wedding day style with Love My Dress – you sure looked absolutely stunning on your big day – congratulations to you both!

After I'd published this feature, the lovely Bride Sharon got in touch to tell me about their little 'Save The Date' video – it's soooooo cute! Take a look at this – created by the Groom himself, who is also the man behind new venture, Foxwell Films – web and video production specialists in Devon…
Hehe! What a fabulous idea for a Save the Date! 😉
Much Friday love all 🙂
