Heirloom Couture Provide 1930’s Art Deco Wedding Gown Glamour…

Good Wednesday morning! At least I hope it is for you 🙂 I am really excited about this latest wedding feature – it's just so perfect for Love My Dress! Bride Kelly found Love My Dress via her Wedding Photographer and I'm so thrilled, because this extremely beautiful Bride looks quite the picture of 1930's glamour.

Kelly married her Beau Neil on 18 September and chose Courtlands House in Exmouth, Devon as their wedding venue, because they wanted to get married and party in the same venue and it has spectacular views across the river Exe.  Kelly's elegant 1930's art-deco style wedding dress was from London based company, Heirloom Couture, who specialise in vintage and made to measure bespoke bridal wear and accessories…

"I love the 1930s look and  knew I wanted a dress with a vintage feel to it.  It was incredibly comfortable and, most importantly, was easy to dance in. I haven't seen any other dresses like this so i was glad to be wearing something a little different.  We both like the vintage look but didn't want it to end up looking like  fancy dress, so just came through in the style of stationery and my dress…"

Very special thanks to Surrey based Weddings and Lifestyle Photographer, Juliet Lemon for allowing reproduction of her images.

Kelly's shoes were a £30 bargain from Debenhams!  Which just goes to show, you can look absolutely fabulous without having to spend a fortune – and besides, bargain hunting is both fun and very rewarding!

Kelly's beautiful bird cage veil was a find from the Vintage Wedding Fair, though she can't recall which stall she picked it up from.

The beautiful pearl drop earrings were borrowed from her Mum, and the bracelet was a find in an antiques centre in Topsham…

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Don't get caught up thinking you 'should' have everything they sell you in wedding magazines.  We cut back on a lot of things  – no favours, simple flowers no professional video maker.  Call in favours from friends and family instead.  All of my stationery was designed by one of my lovely bridesmaids and my Mum was the best wedding planner I could have asked for.

Make it meaningful to you; my bridemaid Chrisie read a wonderful reading and Neil's mum and sister wrote a very special letter that was read during the ceremony.  Neil's neice played the piano after the speeches.  These were the things that meant more than the shape of the confetti!

Try to have a moment by yourself getting ready – it helped to calm me – and also have moments alone with your partner thoughout the day.  And finally, try to relax, remember your guests are on your side, and have fun."
