An Ian Stuart ‘Seville’ Gown for a Scottish Bride…

I just had to share this lovely Scottish Wedding with you on this beautiful Autumnal Saturday afternoon.  Love My Dress receives a lot of visitors to the Blog from Scotland and I sure do love to see a Handsome chap in a kilt! 🙂

This is the wedding of Laura and Joe, who tied the knot on 1 August this year at Culcreuch Castle, Stirlingshire, Scotland, chosen because of the idillic location, small intimate castle, friendliness and efficiency of staff; "We were well looked after from the start of our wedding preparations right up until we left the day after the wedding thanks to Robert, Mary-Ann and Alison".

Huge thanks to the utterly adorable Caroline Weiss of Candysnaps Photography.  Laura told me "She was absolutely amazing and managed to capture our day as I'd imagined it. I can't rave enough about this woman!"  A fine testominial indeed, if ever there was one for all you Scottish Brides-to-be out there! :)  You can see more from Candysnaps Photography on the Love My Dress Wedding Blog here.

I love this wedding for the way Caroline has captured the Bride 'getting ready' shots and for the way Caroline has used colour in her photographs.  I also love the way the Bride and Groom look so natural on camera.  Someone once said to me recently – 'don't force a pose for your wedding photographs – these are the images you won't like – relax and feel at east in front of the camera and these are the images you will love.'  So true!

Tea.  An absolute necessity for any Bride whilst she get's ready.  Preferably of the 'chamomile' or 'Yorkshire Tea' variety!

I remember having one of these diagrams as a makeup guide on my wedding morning – most professional makeup artists wil keep one of these following any hair and makeup trial you have – to remind them of the style of makeup you agreed to having on the day of you wedding…

"I loved it as soon as I saw it back when I was shopping with mum at the beginning of the preparations. I felt as if the dress was designed just for me! I tried on loads of other dresses before decided on 'The One'. My whole posture and persona changed when I put it on – I couldn't stop smiling…"

Dad will Drive…

Dutch Rose Delight…

I LOVE the Dutch Rose. It is a hugely popular choice with 'vintage' Brides, for it's dusky, slightly aged/washed out colouring…

"Wendy at Khloris flowers arranged everything floral and gave lots of practical advice. Because of the huge flower on my dress, we decided on only having ten roses in my bouquet. They were dutch roses in dusky pink with thistles in between."

I absolutely adore the beautiful wrist corsage sported by the Bridesmaid below.  A wrist corsage makes a beautiful alternative to the Bride having to carry a bouquet…

It's Kermit and Miss Piggy!

Clearly this couple have a sense of humour 😉

"Our cake was from Marks and Spencers which the florist decorated with roses and rose petals. I made the Kermit and Piggy toppers myself using Fimo."

Well I couldn't let the afternoon pass by without providing you with a little giggle, could I now? hehehe! 😉

Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?…

Laura and Joe danced to 'Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman' by Bryan Adams

"We love the Spanish guitar and the words in this song. We initially wanted something from the 1980s but couldn't find anything we liked with appropriate lyrics!"

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Enjoy the day and let it all happen. Try to make time for the important people on the day eg. your husband and close family. I spent lots of time trying to catch up with everyone and, on hindsight, didn't spend as much time as I'd have liked with my parents.

Enjoy the planning on the lead up to the big day but try not to get too bogged down with it. On the day, you won't care about details such as matching cake ribbon with mens' ties!

Also, on the day, don't worry if you don't get the chance to speak to everyone.

Above all else, enjoy the day together with your husband, because this will show in the photos."

Laura & joe-142

You can see why I love these photographs? A couple plainly in love with each other, and the love captured beautifully on camera by one talented and very lovely Scottish Wedding Photographer.

Congratulations Laura and Joe on your wedding – and thank you so much for sharing your lovely day with Love My Dress 🙂

Much love all,

Annabel xXx
