Every now and then I'll see a Bride so naturally pretty, it makes my heart swoon. See Bride Ruth below? Look how simple and elegant her look is – she looks the picture of wedding-day beauty with that radiant smile. Just a simple veil can look so stunning – this Bride knows her style and has worked it beautifully on her wedding day, without feeling the need to over accessorize. So lovely…
Ruth married her partner Nick on 27 July this year at Friars Court, Clanfield, Oxfordshire; "We chose this venue because we really wanted to get married outside. The owners Jeffery and Charles made us feel very welcome and after walkng around the beautiful, intimate gardens, knew it was the place for us. We also loved the idea of decorating the barn ourselves for our reception.
Ruth's dress is an Alfred Angelo design, purchased from Wedding Belles in Banbury, Oxfordshire…
"I knew I wanted to have a colour in my dress and to be a little different from most other dresses you see. Our colour theme was blue and white so I chose blue. It was available in 55 colours! I loved the simplicity of the dress and thought it would suite our outdoor venue…"

Ruth's shoes were by the Rainblow Club and are called 'Elle'…
Ruth applied her own makeup…
"I did my own make up and used products by Mac. I went for a makeup lesson first then used the same products…."
"We both like the colour blue and my engagement ring has a blue saphire in so we chose the colours blue and white…"
"I wanted flowers to match our blue and white theme. The florist did all the bouquets, top table and button holes. She also provided the white roses for our cake and rose arbour. As we also had butterflies as part of our theme, she put these in my bouquet…"
"We bought most of our things to decorate the barn and garden from Confetti. Our wicker hearts that we hung from the beams in the barn came from Inspiring Interiors. Our garden lanterns came from a range of boutiques in the town of Hythe in Kent. We put tea lights in them which we lit after dark."
"We bought our wedding cake from Waitrose. It wa a three tiered fruit cake. My Bridesmaid and I made our cupcakes and she decorated them, again to tie in with our colour theme….
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
"Set a budget before you start planning. It is easy to get carried away!! One of my close friends who got married last year told me that when I walk down the ailse, to look at the guests and my fiance, not at the floor. I loved seeing all my family and friends smiling at me as I walked and it made it even more special. We made a donation to Cancer Research on behalf of each guest and gave our guests pin bages and cards telling them about our donation"
Just a beautiful set of wedding photographs, no fuss, simple, chic elegance 🙂
