Emmy Shoes – An Exclusive First Look At The New ‘Love Letters’ Collection of Wedding Shoes…

Shoes.  Funny how they can evoke such powerful emotion in a woman isn't it?…and indeed a man! What is more fabulous than slipping on a beautiful pair of heels to finish off that killer look?  A fine pair of heels elevates your stature and enhances your silhouette and makes you generally feel all-round more fabulous for that special event, and this is certainly no less so than on your wedding day.

Regardless of whether you prefer towering heels or pretty ballet flats,  finding the 'perfect' pair of wedding shoes is usually pretty high up on the list of most Brides to be.  And today my lovelies, I am hoping to inspire anyone out there searching for that ideal heel.

London based 'Emmy Shoes' are on the brink of launching a brand new collection. And let me tell you, it is Drop. Dead. Flippin'. Gorgeous!!!  Entitled 'Love Letters', this new custom made collection of wedding shoes, mixes sexy 1970's shapes with super high heels and delicately intricate embellishment inspired by birds, insects and the sea.

As with all Emmy's hand crafted shoes, the highlight are in the fine detailing and finishes; matt shells and opaque milk glass beads are used in the exquisite 'dragonfly wing' pattern to cover the stunning Francesca {below top, £695}; this shoe has an open toe, 5 inch heel {5 inches!!!}, providing a nod towards vintage Halston, as does the Esta {£465], a platform sandal with a delightful satin ankle bow.  Oh Emmy, you do know how to make my shoe loving heart go all a flutter…

Now, admittedly, Emmy Shoes aren't for those on a light budget.  But let's stop to think what we're paying for here;' these shoes are not only deigned by one of the most talented ladies working in her field {who trained at Cordwainers College and has worked for Bottega Veneta and Armani}, they are also made to order (so when you buy a pair, you're not buying some pre-made pair of shoes, they will be made especially for YOU by some of the finest craftsmen in the business).  And, they are indeed exceptionally well produced; careful and delicate hand-crafted production sits alongside beautifully applied detail, so delicate in nature that each pair of shoes almost seems like a little work of art!

The 'Sorrell' design here features the most delicate tiny bronze birds that are dotted between a waterfall of beaded flowers.  £525…

….and talking of birds, just LOOK at this exquisite 'Two Birds' headband, £195 – I so so love this!

I wore Emmy Shoes on my wedding day.  Whilst located in London, the Emmy team were more than happy to post a pair of shoes on to me to try out for size, and style.

I opted for a 4" pair of Crystal Pearls with a Silver T-Bar decorated in Swarovski Crystals (see them on my wedding day) and cannot rave about them enough. For their towering height, they were unbelieeeeeeeeeevably comfortable on the day. I felt a million dollars in them and they finished off my wedding day wardrobe perfectly.   I've been lucky enough to since become acquainted with Emmy Scarterfield, the designer behind this fabulous English brand, and interviewed Emmy here.

I'm so excited with Emmy's beautiful new collection and now in even more awe of this talented designer {who also happens to be utterly sweet and lovely by the way!}.

The 'Alicia' below {£425} is decorated with a hand beaded bird and feathers, creating a dramatic statement – perfect for any Bride looking for something to compliment her Art-Deco, vintage inspired nuptials…

Emmy has also created a range of exquisite hair decorations to compliment the collection.   Two delicate combs are joined by threads of tiny beads, designed to elegantly drape over the forehead in the 'Double Fan Drape' design below, £195…
