Purple Heels, Pretty Flowergirls and the Perfect Proposal…

It is not often that I find myself looking back over, and over, and over a set of photographs that have been submitted to Love My Dress.  Don't get me wrong, I adore ALL the weddings I feature on my beloved little wedding blog, but some weddings, well, some weddings just kind of 'get me right there'.  In an emotional way.

A fine and talented Photographer will know just how to capture the emotion of the wedding day and translate that emotion into a beautiful story via his photographs.  To me, this set of photographs tells a beautiful and romantic story.  The smiles, the very obvious deep love between the Bride and Groom – those little flower girls (talk about making my heart melt!), the whole glamorous and yet unpretentious nature of this wedding.  Everything about this day makes me smile and feel SO happy to be in the privileged position of writing this wedding blog 🙂

These absolutely beautiful photographs were taken by Ed Peers.  And frankly, today I feel like celebrating Ed as one of THE best Photographers in the UK today.

'What do I know?'  Well, a little bit, I'd hope, seeing I spend most of my time eyes glued on wedding photographs – living and breathing all things wedding! 🙂

Matthew and Miri tied the knot on 13 September 2010 at "The Inn On The Lake" in Goldalming Surrey

"We could not of had a better photographer. The quality of Ed's work is truly amazing. We were so stunned to see how well he captured all our most cherished moments. He also personally found near by scenic locations making our private photo's better than we could ever have possibly imagined.

He did not miss a moment and every time we look at our photo's we relive the day. Everybody that sees our photos says "they're the best they have ever seen" so I would highly recommand Ed to everyone and anyone!"

Miri's lovely wedding dress was from Fairy Tale Couture in Putney, London

"I loved fitted dresses and I loved the simplicity of the dress. It seemed timeless and classic and one that I could look back on and not cringe. I also loved the touch of glamour the crystal embroidery gave the dress – it was the icing on the cake for me…"

The couple chose "The Inn On The Lake" in Goldalming Surrey as their wedding venue…

"…it's a beautiful venue and I really wanted some thing different. Some people thought I was mad for choosing a out door wedding in England but I loved the idea, prayed and ran with it. It was also very very cost effective and a bit quirky so it was all thumbs up for me and my Husband.  I also wanted to create a relaxed wedding environment to it was perfect…"

The proposal…

"After months of planning the perfect proposal, the proposal day on New Year Eve 2009 arrived. After finding and purchasing the perfect ring that he was yet to collect, Matthew awoke on 'proposal day' to find the receipt missing.

He turned the house upside down, and in complete despair he rummaged through five bin liners outside and found the receipt neatly folded amidst the filth of the final bin liner. Moments later the dust bin men approached ready to do their job on dust bin collection day. Matthew thanked God over and over and an hour later he had the ring.

Later that evening, Matthew took Miri out to celebrate the New Year. They went to the plush leather seated cinema in Hampstead to watch the best film ever made (Avatar) in mind blowing 3D!

They then had a romantic dinner in a cosy restaurant nearby and when Miri thought it was time to head home, he took her to the place of their first date; Primrose Hill. With a view of London, they watched the fireworks light up the sky. Miri's ridiculous high heels didn't allow her to walk down the hill, so Matthew insisted on giving her a piggy back ride down the very steep hill…"

"Matthew stumbled down the hill with the 'still carrying a bit of her baby weight' Miri on his back and they eventually made it to the bottom. In the midnight darkness with only the light from the Victorian street lamps lighting the park, it began to snow. Matthew inwardly patted himself on the back for being such a romantic genius. He began planning where he would propose, when he suddenly looked up to see a guy thirty yards away getting on one knee to propose to his girlfriend. Matthew stared in horror and quickly began ushering Miri away from the couple who seemed intent on stealing his thunder.

It was too late; Miri noticed and began screaming 'What a way to do it! Congratulations!' Matthew wanted to run and shove the couple over, who by now were squealing in delight. He however maintained his composure, took Miri under a nearby Victorian lamp, got on one knee, as the snow fell onto his brow and said 'Miri… will you marry me' Miri with tears streaming down her face said 'Yes!'…"

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"I would also say that it is essential to prioritise a really good photographer, as with all the money and sleepless nights you've spent planning this wedding, photo's are the only memories of the day that you can have to hand.  Your wedding is the best day of your life and lots of people will try and maniputlate your desire to make it perfect. So make sure you have a budget and stick to it! If you are determained, you'll be amazed with what you could achieve with very little money.

We both we're students at the time but both had big ideas and expectations of what we wanted for our wedding. We managed to have our dream wedding for under £4,000…"
