DIY Bride ~ Secret Garden Inspired Outdoor Wedding…

In an effort to bring you more DIY style posts – the kind you really CAN get your hands around, I’m handing over this morning to Chloe from Love Making It, who pulled together this cute little ‘Secret Garden’ inspired outdoor setting.

Love Making It is a lifestyle blog full of inspiration for creative homes and the perfect DIY wedding, so Chloe knows a thing or two about how to make things look pretty whilst adhering to a sensible budget.

“Through my blog, Love Making It, I have been approached by brides wanting special ‘homemade’ touches in their wedding, some due to budget reasons but mostly because they want to get their friends and family involved and create a look which is personal to them.  After several wonderful experiences of helping my brides achieve this, and really enjoy the process, I have started offering wedding styling services, specialising in DIY elements!

(Personally this is really scary but very exciting, it’s amazing to be able to use all the creative ideas that whizz around my head to make someone else happy! A far cry from my day job of looking at spreadsheets all day!!!! However I’m at the very start of a long journey and lots of hard work so being featured on Love My Dress would be a huge honour and incredible exposure for me!)…”

The photos include a number of simple and cost effective DIY ideas, I wanted to feature them together in a shoot to show my brides that these small DIY touches can pull together to create a ‘styled’ look! My main costs were the vintage fabric, the flowers and the antique key which I purchased from etsy.com for $10 and the handmade elements include:

♥  Hand sewn place mats made from vintage fabric
♥  Mini cake bunting
♥  Wool wrapped ‘LOVE’ lettering
  Lace wrapped wine glasses
  Cup cake toppers
  Paper flowers
Mini plant favours in the cute little buckets!
  The cake and cupcakes
♥  Photo frame place setting
♥  Lace trimmed book menu’s
  Wine bottle and book labels
