I've got a thing about pleats. I love them. I've been a bit obsessed with them for years now and some of my favourite frocks are pleated ones. This pleated wedding dress was a real eye-catcher for me. I love it's dropped waist and strapless design – I love to see a dress that takes a step away from the traditional a-line strapless style.
This is the 'Faisan' pleated wedding dress, by Pronovias and it was worn by Bride Krysia on her wedding day when she tied the knot with Husband Martin at the Swan at the Globe in London…
"I've never been traditional so wanted something different, so after getting engaged I bought a few bridal magazines for inspiration. Whilst flicking through, I saw this dress and immediately knew it was the one – I loved the fact it was light and floaty and had beautiful unusual beading.
I did try other dresses and styles but my first instincts were right. I nearly didn't get to try it on though…when I went to Pronovias to view the dresses, they didn't have the style I wanted in the shop (they have so many styles that not all of them are available in each place and so it's pot luck if the style you like is in store). Luckily they phoned their Harrods branch who had it available, so I made another appointment and the dress was taxied over by a helpful member of staff. So I can now say my dress came from Harrods!
The venue and the dress inspired the overall style of our day – it wasn't until these were decided on that the rest of the details were chosen."

Krysia's shoes were by one of my fave UK designers, Rachel Simpson…
Krysia wore a stunning headpiece design, from Vintage Headdresses…
"I spent ages thinking about what to do with my hair (I grew it for the wedding as I usually have short hair). Not really being a girly girl I've never really worn my hair up but wanted to do something special. The headdress fitted the bill and was perfect, it matched the dress and added sparkle to the outfit."
"Martin is tall and slim and wanted a suit that would fit his frame rather than drown it (which tends to be the case with off the peg), so he had it specially made (with black silk lining to match the wedding theme) by 'A Suit That Fits'…
"The venue itself is stunning and didn't need much decoration – with the views over London being the highlight. The table names, order of the day, table plan etc. were all designed and beautifully made by Martin's mum…"
Hummingbird bakery provided the layers of sugary goodnes below; 3 seperate red velvet cakes, assembled and decorated at the venue (decorations from Rainbow Sugarcraft and Williams Sonoma)…
"Again I didn't want to go down the traditional route of having a heavy fruit cake (as we were having a large wedding breakfast), so we opted for something different.
I love to bake and red velvet cake is one of my favourites – by doing the cake this way not only did we save a lot of money but we also had a scrummy cake that was loved by all…"
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
"Stay calm – and spread things out throughout the engagement. We had 6 months to prepare but nothing felt rushed by doing a bit at a time…"

"We chose Lily & Frank (aka Catherine) after seeing her photos in a magazine and looking on her gorgeous website and blog. We loved her quirky style and her attention to detail. When we met her she immediately made us feel relaxed and we just knew she would take fantastic photos. I'm so pleased with the results – I've never looked so beautiful."
Much love,
