Bridal Inspiration Boards #5 ~ Rustic Charm…

Well how the devil did Friday come round so quickly!! What an exciting day ahead.  A splendiferous announcement will be blogged at 12-noon today {I am so excited!}.  But for now, it's bridal inspiration board time, and this week, I'm handing over to the fabby London Wedding Planner Josie Hendrick of Savoir Weddings.

Josie talks us through her Rustic Charm Bridal Inspiration Board

"May is normally the first month in the UK it actually starts to get warm and sunny. I say 'normally' because this year April was almost tropical!  So if you want an outside wedding May is probably the first month of the year it's worth taking a risk with the weather.

When I think of a May wedding,  I immediately think of May poles, halos of flowers, sprites, nymphs and all sorts of fairy tale woodland based myths. So without descending entirely into a child's story book, I went with this concept for this bridal inspiration board.

This board is all about nature.  How amazing would it be to have a treehouse wedding? Or at least to have a blessing in the woods and begin the ceremony emerging from your house in the trees?"

Tables outside amongst the trees, with flowers placed straight on the tables without vases, ribbons hung from the trees and fairy lights and lanterns strung up everywhere as it gets dusky. A vintage bohemian bride in bare feet with bridesmaids with head pieces of flowers, a woodland wedding is all about being 'au naturel'…."

"The brilliant thing about a natural woodland wedding is your decor can be kept to a minimum. When your venue is naturally beautiful you really can save money with the decoration. Just because you're wedding's outside doesn't mean you can't bring the inside out. Comfy chairs, sofas, rugs – with this look it's all about relaxed comfort – so bring it all outside.

Of course translating this board into reality would mean back up plans if the weather isn't great (wedding planners are all about the plan b) but as far as inspiration goes, what's more romantic than a wedding in the woods?"
