Bluebells, a Flower Crown and a Vintage Camera…

So it’s officially Summer {I know how I’d have got laughed at if I’d have said that yesterday!} and in homage to the Spring that has just passed by, all bluebell lawned woods, I’d like to feature this pretty April time engagement shoot this morning, of soon-to-be married Tarah and Nathan.

I received a delightful email from Tarah a few weeks back asking if I’d like to features this shoot – the excitement it contained was palpable and transported me right back to that place I was in just over 2 years ago, a Bride to Be, so excited about my upcoming wedding day 🙂  Tarah, a Photographer herself, told me about her pre-wedding photoshoot…

“I started doing wedding photography last year and one of the first wonderful people I met was Antonina Mamzenko. She lived up the road from me in London and she was really helpful in encouraging me.  I’m getting married in August this year and Antonina had just had a baby and wanted to do an engagement photoshoot to get back into it. I happily volunteered so one lovely late afternoon in April my ever patient fiance Nathan and I drove over to the magical Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park for some photos.

I had recently done a course with Martin & the Magpie on how to DIY your wedding flowers so I wanted to try my hand at making a flower wreath for my hair (it’s just so romantic!) but when it came to it all the florists were closed and I ran out of time – so a quick stop at Hobbycraft and I made a gorgeous crown of daisies instead.  I loved my little crown and Nathan wants me to wear it for our wedding as he was quite taken with it!”

Antonina said to bring along a few props that represented us and as Nathan is a writer he brought along his notebook and I brought along my vintage camera in it’s tattered old box. Antonina brought some stunning bluebells and some blackboard speech bubbles that her husband had made which were so much fun and Nathan and I had a great time.

Antonina really captured the giggly and romantic side of us and the photos in the stunning setting sun are some of my favourites ever. We were being completely and utterly us and it makes us really happy to see them. I am so excited to be marrying Nathan in 3 months and amongst all the planning it was nice to take a moment to be excited about it all again.”
