Hi Everyone 🙂 I hope you’ve all been busy (during your coffee breaks, of course!) collating images for your mood-board competition entries!
I can imagine that if newlywed couple Jenna and Dave had produced their own mood-board prior to their wedding day, that there would have been a whole lotta vintage style love going on!
Jenna and Dave tied the knot on 14 May 2011 at High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells, and simply love Jenna’s choice of gown – an original vintage 1930’s wedding dress from Dolly Diamond on Portobello Road, London…
“It’s amazing! The dress is a beautiful oyster colour covered in diamante. The cut and shape of the dress suited my body shape really well.
I design shoes for a living so I sent a design off to one of our factories and chose the leather; once I received them I stuck the diamante down the heels and in the heart to make them blingy!”

“I knitted a tank top for Dave (for the first dance). It was navy wool with a cream heart in the middle (in baby alpaca) made from a vintage knitting pattern…”
“We each arrived on the steam train with our respective parties. It was a Thomas the Tank Engine weekend so we got trains with faces on (this was not planned but added more fun to the day). This took us straight to the venue…”
Jenna’s two Bridesmaids stand just behind here here on the station {hello Thomas!}…
“When it came to my Bridesmaids, the blue dress was from House of vintage on Cheshire St off Brick Lane. The pink dress was from This Shop Rocks on Brick Lane….”
“Dave and I met swing dancing. I had just started and he was just very kind to beginners! We became good buddies and when we got together it was perfect – we’ve got happier each day! Dave proposed once we had pitched up a tent in Weymouth when we went camping.
He bought me a beautiful 1940’s diamond solitare from Hatton Garden. We love vintage, and neither of us wanted our wedding to be too traditional or formal…”
“The centre pieces were a glass cake stand, with a thick candle wrapped in a garland with a lovebirds clip, surrounded by white petals. There were flower garlands, heart paper things and bunting as well…”
“We went for an orange sponge and chocolate sponge 3-tier cake because we prefer it over fruit cake. My sister put me in touch with Claire – we designed the cake based on one she had on her gallery and she coloured it how we wanted. It was white icing with oyster roses (to match my dress) with silver stems. We found a vintage cake topper on Etsy…”
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
“Enjoy the planning and the anticipation. And relax! It will all be fine. I could have carried on all night. Our day, somehow, was just totally easy- it all fell into place and went better than we could have dreamed…”
Thanks to Jenna for sharing her wedding day love with us today and BIG thanks to the ladies over at Cotton Candy Weddings for sending in these photographs – you girls are fabulous! You can see more from Cotton Candy Weddings on Love My Dress here 🙂

I love everything about this wedding and it’s just what I need after a morning of unrelenting research for my MA dissertation, I can tell you!
The bride’s hair and make-up are especially fabulous {pics going straight in my inspiration folder} and she looks smoking in her vintage frock.

I love High Rocks, so many wonderful opportunities for photographs, how cool they arrive on the Steam train.
WOW – she looks incredible. And I love the shot of their legs dancing. Only wish we could have seen this vintage diamond ring too!
Oh my word! How beautiful. But pleasepleaseplease can we have a day without an incredible vintage wedding being posted? I’m having enough dress wobbles as it is – these posts are not helping matters! I want to find an amazing vintage dress too!
Incredible dress! And suits Jenna to a T. Seem like a talented couple too- knitting, dancing and shoe designing…
Abby, if it helps, I think every bride has dress wobbles. I certainly did, right up until the day, but it turned out perfectly and I couldn’t have been happier. Sure you have the perfect dress for you.
Thanks for your comments guys 🙂
Abby – you are not alone and Hannah is right. I would imagine every Bride has dress wobbles, I did! Infact I sold my first dress on as I changed my mind on it!!
You will be fine, trust your instinct though OK! 😉
Big love,

And we have not found any generational gap at all. If he wants to go a football game, he goes. If I want to go to a fashion show, I go. We don’t have to do everything together. But we like doing most things together.
