Louis Mariette – Beautiful Bridal Floral Headpieces and 1950’s Inspired Hats…

Its all a little bit of the 'luxury' this morning on Love My Dress.  Louis Mariette is a designer who has intrigued me for a good while now. I absolutely adore his fanciful and whimsical statement headpieces from his dazzling 'Bejewelled' Collection, which was inspired by floral and wildlife inspired designs – my favourite design from the collection is 'Helena' the top image below.

Not 'all that' Bridal some might say :)  Not if you're not super brave, anyway :)  But worry not; for alongside these avant-garde and supremely glamorous more creative designs, Louis has also created a beautifully wearable and far more price accessible collection for Brides – that is available for purchase via the online wedding accessories boutique, Liberty in Love.

Louis Mariette describes his collections as 'romantic, elegant, escapist and avant-garde'.  He was born in Malawi, with Mauritian origins, grew up in Botswana and Swaziland where nature was his playground and would spend many an hour exploring endless species of flora and fauna with a passion for colour and sparkle.  You can read about this exuberant designer here.  And just like a magpie, he now travels the globe to source all the component pieces and incredible trimmings for his designs, such as hand-embroidered fabrics, antique embellishments, porcupine quills, feathers, hand-dipped resin flowers an semi-precious stones…

The Louis Mariette has also this season launched a ready-to-wear collection of hats and fascinators that really appeal to me too!  Inspired by the 1950's and the style of icons such as Sophia Loren and Audrey Hepburn, Louis has created a collection that reflects an understated elegance and sophistication, blended with quirky, unique style – think Breakfast at Tiffany's or Come September.

In the spirit of true luxry and proudly sourced and hand-made in the UK, Louis Mariette has sought out the finest silk duchess satins and organzas, the softest of lamb leathers and the most luxurious of trimmings, such as the Swarovski crystal buckles – all pieced together to make a bold yet stylish creation.

Gorgeous…
