OK, so this afternoon, I'm shifting my attention to veils and bridal headpiece designs and one designer who I've been watching and meaning to feature for sometime now – Vivien Sheriff.
Vivien Sheriff design and create some really very beautiful bridal designs. From veils to intricately beaded headpieces, I know when I've stumbled upon something of incredible quality and these products definitely meet the mark. Vivien tells me how she approaches the task of design…
"I use my own individual framework for what I think looks good. My ideas on what looks good is certainly different to lots of other designers I think, making the style of headwear extremely unique. I try to imagine the bride, imagine all the feelings and emotion she’s going through and try get that out in a design, also we try to imagine brides past, so for example 1920’s veil is product of that creative process. Secondly I’d say that being set where we are in the remote stunning countryside, nature plays a big part in our design process. Its sounds a bit cliché but it definitely comes out in our work!
Fashion and design have always been a huge personal passion and I always looked at designs and had ideas, but I got into millinery from importing rare textiles from around the world. Funny how it works out."
"I developed the best team and we’ve worked together over a long long period of time, it takes time to develop a level where you click with one other and understand each others styles. We’ve had the same small group of designers for such a long time now that we’ve set in stone our own very distinctive unique Vivien Sheriff design style, which I think is key.
