Effortless Cool and Chic ~ A Wedding Planned in Just 16 Weeks…

Hi peeps, first wedding of the week on Love My Dress and we're off over to Leeds in Yorkshire for the marriage of Julie and Matthew, who tied the knot on 28th May with a ceremony at  St Luke's Church in Norland, Halifax, followed by a reception at The Mansion in Roundhey.

I think Julie looks so beautiful in these images.  It might be me but I don't often see a Bride with short hair – most Brides tend to spend months willing their hair to grow in the lead up to their wedding, don't they?

Julie's chic halterneck style dress was from Swanky Bride in Lightcliffe. A fab choice to compliment her overall style I say.  I love how Julie keeps it simple – the headband and drop earrings combo is a winner for me.  I am also super impressed that Julie planned this wedding in just 16 weeks!

"I called in on the off-chance on my birthday with my bridesmaid after having been told at another dress shop that it was too short notice for most dresses (we only booked the wedding 16 weeks before the date) and although the Swanky Bride would not normally have any free appointments on a Saturday, they had just that minute had a cancellation!

It was the second dress I tried on – and I loved it. Between myself, my bridesmaid Jen and Trish the dress shop owner, we had soon come up with various alterations to make it unique and perfect.  As an extra bonus, it was in the sale. It was meant to be!

"My earrings were from Swanky Bride also and bracelet was my "something borrowed" and "something blue" as it had pale blue stones in it and coincidentally matched my earrings brilliantly…"

"Our paths have been crossing for the last 10 years but we only got together 5 years ago and both immediately realised we would get married. We lived in a rented apartment for 4 years and last summer we bought our first house together and matt proposed with a Haribo ring in the kitchen on the first night in the house. The real ring followed some months later again after a difficult search.

We didn't want a long engagement and we managed to get a last minute cancellation at our venue but we couldn't have dreamed of anywhere better. We wanted something tasteful and elegant and not overly complicated or fussy, which The Mansion was perfect for. Above all we wanted a fun day filled with love and loved ones…"

Awww, look at them ;)  Congratulations Julie and Matthew on tieing the knot – I wish you a very long marriage full of love and happiness.

Thanks too to Yorkshire Wedding Photographer, James Melia for sharing these lovely images…

"James was a friend from school and I'm delighted we got in touch with him to do our wedding photo's. We had a much dreaded pre-wedding shoot which turned out to be a fantastic idea as it served to put us at ease with James and his style of working.

On the day, James slotted into our day in a calm, relaxed way. On a personal level it was lovely to have a friend doing this job for us who got along so well with our friends and family but he was also incredibly hard-working and professional. The resulting images were beautiful and relaxed- he captured the happiness of our day perfectly!"
