Love Shoots in Ibiza with Polly Alexandre…

Wow! What a beautiful day, the sun is out – not even like massively out where I am, just out and I swear to goodness is its entirely responsible for my fabulous feel-good-factor today. I feel amazing, full of excitement {for a certain something happening in August}, I'm seeing my baby girl soon, the garden looks lush today and well, life is beautiful… 🙂

I love Polly Alexandre.  That is a fact.  Her photography is one of the reasons I was so drawn into this world of 'Wedding Blogging'.  Last month, I felt like the luckiest girl alive when I got to spend a day with Polly on a photoshoot. I'm kind of in desperate need for some PR shots you see.  Little did I know I'd end up frolicking around on Polly's bed, in her simply beautiful vintage frocks and giggling about teeth and dog paintings {I'll explain another time}, let alone her upcoming nuptials and her amazing wedding photographer, Jose Villa {did you SEE those engagement shots by Elizabeth Messina? So completley beautiful}.

Polly, who splits her time between London and Ibiza, has recently launched a new 'Couples Portrait Shoots' service over in Ibiza {a place I know many of you like to flee to for a rest during the Summer} and given the sun and overall sense of Summer to today, I thought I'd share the results of one of her latest sunny summery photoshoots with you today.  Flights to Ibiza from the UK are cheap and frequent, so you could consider combining a fun mini break with some beautiful photos of you and you beloved, to celebrate your relationship, pre wedding, post wedding or just for the fun of it! What an experience to remember though….

"From this April I am very excited to offer Couple Portrait Shoots in Ibiza – incredible light, magical locations and a wonderful laidback vibe.

Kim is a wedding planner herself (The Pink Pumpkin & Idyllic Days) and when she called me up as soon as she was engaged I was really thrilled that she had chosen to book me as her Photographer. We had previously worked together on a few weddings and I had had the chance to get to know both Kim and her partner Chara.

Kim had booked a Pre Wedding Shoot along with her Wedding Photography and when I revealed my exciting plans to start offering them in Ibiza she immediately took me up on the idea and booked a lovely pre-wedding minibreak for the two of them…"

"I teamed up with the talented Sara from Smack Ibiza who did Kim's hair and make up for the shoot, and chose some great locations on the sunset side of the island where I have a home. Kim and Chara planned a few outfit changes and Kim took it well when her new silk maxi dress got a little caught in the waves….I think it was worth it!  Of course we finished the experience with a glass of chilled rose on the beach at sunset…"

Event designer and stylist Kim told me more about this shoot…

"When we first got engaged, there was never any question that Chara and I wanted Polly to be our wedding photographer; her images are always beyond gorgeous and she is so lovely to work with. When we met to talk through our wedding plans Polly told us about her new pre-wedding shoots in Ibiza and we jumped at the chance of having one. As our wedding is taking place in London, we thought it would be a super contrast between the two locations, and as we love to travel, an on location pre-wedding shoot was perfect for us.

We had great fun choosing outfits together and arranging our trip; I have to admit I was a little nervous at the prospect of being in front of the camera, but during the shoot Polly made us both feel completely at ease and totally relaxed; it was really fun! It was so lovely to spend a couple of days together, away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, and focus on our love for each other and our forthcoming marriage. Although we were only there for a couple of days, we both fell in love with Ibiza – it is such a beautiful place and Polly took us to some really gorgeous locations for the shoot.

I was completely overwhelmed when I saw the images from the shoot for the first time. Polly has captured the real essence of "us" in the pictures, and I just know that our wedding will be captured in the same beautiful way. I cannot recommend the experience of having a pre-wedding shoot in Ibiza with Polly highly enough; everyone should have one!"
