It has to be said. I'm a paper kind of girl. I love my stationery.  I love quality stationery, the thickness of the paper, the indent of that letterpress print, the scent of fresh print and fonts – don't even get me started on my geeky tendencies towards fonts!

Love My Dress was the first wedding blog last year to write about letterpress wedding invitation company, Artcadia, after designer/owner Vici-Jane Kohring contacted me to see if I liked her products. I think 'adore' would actually be a more appropriate way to describe how I felt once I had seen for myself Vici-Janes wonderful collection of vintage style, letter press wedding invites.

For those not in the know, Artcadia is Vici-Jane and her Husband Richard Kohring, who run their small and very passionate printing studio producing unique wedding and social stationery. Artcadia specialise in providing the highest quality printing using both digital and letterpress methods…

Artcadia  boasts a very eclectic collection, to suit all tastes and budget. Without pigeon holing, our signature style could be described as be whimsical and quirky, with a dash of vintage and rustic to boot.”

Since opening doors for business in 2010, Artcadia has consumed half of Vici-Jane and Richard’s Shropshire home, a summerhouse and a 20 square foot printing studio and the couple now work with clients countrywide and internationally through their online store and via email…

“Working within the wedding industry is great. We get to deal with very perky and loved up customers. Weddings are becoming more and more fantastic. Across the board, from favours to tiaras, hugely creative businesses are emerging making the modern big day far less “standard issue”.

The brides we work with on custom designs want to inject their own style, so it’s incredibly rewarding when we can deliver something personal on paper for them…“

“We are usually knee deep in custom design work, which we love doing as it’s something we feel quite passionate about. We believe wedding stationery should reflect the couple and the big day, as accurately as possible and sometimes off the peg just doesn’t do the job. We’ve recently been working on a stationery suite for a couple based in Edinburgh who are getting married on New Years Eve. The design has a really Scottish look, using clan tartans and the Ediburgh Castle skyline.

As New Years Eve is such an event in Scotland, we’ve also incorporated fireworks images. It sounds awful, but trust me, it’s wonderful! And most importantly the bride and groom are delighted.”

“Having always has an interest in design and printing, when Richard and I struggled sourcing our own wedding stationery, a little light bulb flashed above my head. I came from a marketing and graphic design background, so creating some initial designs was no problem. Artcadia was born. We had a garage full of antique printing equipment, which had been accumulating since I volunteered at a local Victorian town printer as a teenager. It was this volunteer work, which sparked my interest in printing and letterpress.

Richard is a very methodical perfectionist and shares my passion for antique presses. So he left his vacation as a plumber to join the venture when my workload got heavy. His input has really driven Artcadia’s progression.”
