A Traditional English Wedding of Pink and Lace…

Hi everyone 🙂 I thought I'd pepper my pages with a little bit of traditional pretty this afternoon. So many blogs try to feature that something different, that unique and inspirational wedding, but I know that many Brides feel under pressure by these type of weddings  and I know that many of you out there are looking for something simply traditional, pretty and stylish.  And that is more than good with me 😉

This lovely wedding full of pink accents is the marriage of Anneka & Ben Wilson, who tied the knot on 1 May 2011 at St. Marys Church, Elloughton, East Yorkshire, followed by a reception at Rowley Manor, Walkington, East Yorkshire.  Elloughton was the parish and church Ben grew up around.

Anneka wore a Pronovias lace dress from Deborah Moore Bridal, Hessle, East Yorkshire

"I always wanted a fitted, lace dress that looked vintage but also with a modern twist.  As soon as I tried my dress on I thought it was so beautiful and different.  I loved the mermaid shape of the dress and the top was unique yet subtle…"

"Rowley Manor was the perfect place for our wedding, it is an old, traditional manor house with its imperfections, in a beautiful countryside settings.  It is surrounded by fields of horses and has peacocks roaming around the grounds.  You hire the whole house including its 16 bedrooms, and the house is literally yours for 24 hours.

The staff were brilliant and you hardly noticed they were there.  The owners were very accommodating and we were able to make our day personal to us…"

"Rosie Woodward Floral Design  was our florist for the day.  Rosie was amazing and provided advice and guidance throughout the process of deciding on style of flowers and centre pieces.

We were torn between country style and vintage style flowers.  I had seen birdcages previously and suggested this to her.  Within minutes, she was raiding her house for a birdcage and then a glass cake stand.  As soon as she put the birdcage on the cake stand, we knew that was the look we were going for.
The flowers we had included peonies, roses and lisianthus. We really want white lilac as it is so beautiful, so were really happy when it was still in season…"

"I had my hair curled and then styled by Mark Hill Hair Salon.  I didn't actually decide how I was going to have my hair until the actual morning!"

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"It is your day, a celebration about two people being in love so just relax and enjoy the day!  We wanted vintage style with a modern twist and then we just picked things up along the way…."
