A Fun and Colourful Beachside Wedding for a 1950’s Inspired Bride…

Today just got a whole lot better already 🙂 I just adore this wedding, it serves as a recipe for a simply gorgeous day.  Pretty vintage wedding dress? Check. Cute vintage isnpired and 'can be worn again' Bridesmaids frocks? Check.  Wild daisies in the bouquets? Check. And beautiful blue skies and golden sandy beaches? Check check and triple check!

Bride Maddie frequently visited Love My Dress for inspiration in the run up to her wedding to Husband Adam on 3 July this year at The Gallivant in Camber Sands, East Sussex.  Maddie told me that she and Adam had simply wanted a fun, informal day by the beach and luckily, that’s exactly what they got!

Maddie's beautiful dress was from London based vintage wedding dress specialists, the lovely Fur Coat, No Knickers {hi girls!}…

"The dress was just what I was looking for – original fifties, to the knee, big skirt and not strapless. I Loved the dress and the place. They were so friendly and helpful. They fit the dress to you and help you customise to your heart’s desire! Very patient too and full of fantastic ideas. Highly recommend them!"

"My veil was also from Fur Coat, No Knickers. Again you can have whatever you fancy – long, short, full, different types of trim and clips.  I just went for quite a short, full veil to match the dress with plain satin trim…."

"Harriet is a lovely woman, who offers a great service. You can choose a style (and high or low heel) and then add any trim you like from her great range…"

"My parents had their Ruby Wedding Anniversary there a few years ago and we loved the location, right next to the beach. We went back to Camber Sands for Adam’s 30th birthday last year and had a lovely sunny day with our friends. The Gallivant was just what we were looking for in a perfect spot…."

The couple danced to 'Your Rocky Spine' by Great Lake Swimmers, a track they both apparently adore. Great choice guys – so do I! 😉

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Think about the things you really remember from the weddings you’ve been to – what you’ve enjoyed most and what you didn’t even notice. Drink, music, lighting and food are pretty key I’d say – (table favours not so much…) – and inviting lots of lovely, fun people of course!

Try not to leave yourself with too much to do in that last week – and try to take it off work if you can.

Have your hair and make-up done so you can relax on the day, safe in the knowledge that someone is busy trying to make you look the best you can. Drink bubbles, relax and enjoy!  And get a video – it flies by!!"

Big thanks too to the lovely, friendly and very helpful Nick White for sharing these lovely images {we got there eventually Nick! hehe ;)}
