What Are Your Favourite Non-Wedding Blogs ~ And Why?

I'm hoping this blog post finds you well, especially those of you over in America today, and especially those of you in New York. I'm thinking of you on this sad day in September, but I'm also focussing on the hope, strength and solidarity of a truly amazing and inspirational nation.  I loved visiting New York earlier this year, I couldn't have been more warmly welcomed by so many. I very much hope to visit again very soon.  In the meantime, I send love and respect to each and every one of you, remembering ten years ago today – that includes those of you who ordinarily, have reason to celebrate today {birthdays/wedding anniversaries}.  God bless you all.

Today, I'm hoping to blog a couple of posts for you to make up for what's been a quieter than normal week on Love My Dress.  And today, I'm curious.  I'm curious to know something about you, my reader.  Actually, I'm curious to know a lot of things about my darling readers, but one of them is -  what do they like to look at on the internet apart from wedding inspiration?  What are your favourite non-wedding blogs, and why?

There are two reasons for this. Firstly, I'm keen to be inspired myself.  I follow a number of blogs via Google Reader {actually on the advice of a friend this weekend I'll be trying out Flipboard on my iPad to track my favourite blogs} and I'm keen to learn about new blogs I should be following.  The other is, I want to get a better idea of the tasts and preferences of my readers.  So, I thought I may as well just come out clean and ask.  Can you name up to 5 of your favourite non-wedding blogs.  If you have time and are so inclined, I'd love to hear why you like these blogs too.  What say you?  Leave your thoughts in the comments section below 🙂

To get you started, here are some of my favourite non-wedding blogs, in no particular order:-

(1)  Junkaholique
This one of my 'favourite' favourites, if you know what I mean.  Devour yourself with this blog. Drown yourself in these pages of gorgeousness.  This adorable blog is maintained by Artemis Russell, one half of RUST jewellery {the other half is Artemis' Husband, Nao Utsumi}. You will want cute matching 'his n hers' garden sheds and be hankering to camp under the stars in a canvass bell tent in no time, trust me.

(2)   A La Parisienne
One of the first blogs I ever started following. I absolutely adore this blogger's love of Parisian style.  She writes from the heart and she writes so very beautifully too.

(3)   A cup of Jo
this New York Blogger writes about all that inspires her, from photography, to her beautiful baby boy and Husband, to New York city life, fashion and design.  Warning:  Addictive.

(4)  Alex Beadon Photography
I adore Alex's blog.  Alex is Photographer, but she is not a wedding photographer.  She blog's about things that inspire her in her journey of personal development and photography.  She is always upbeat, positive and encouraging. I find her whole approach to life and learning so very inspirational. I always make time to read her blog.

(5)  The Sartorialist
I have long loved dipping into this New York Photographer Scott Schuman's Blog of images of random people from across the city that he is inspired to photograph. It's totally addictive.

(6)  Bleubird Vintage Blog
some people may be irked by the idea of blogging about one's family as much as James Kicinski, but this blogger does it in such an inoffensive, fun, stylish way. I adore her blog so much.  One super stylish lady with a lovely family.  A blog full of fashion, Mummy and daily lifestyle inspiration and cute family photos. I just love it 🙂

(7) 'What I Wore'
The voyeur in me loves to see what American Fashion Blogger Jessica Quirk of the 'What I Wore' blog, has chosen to wear each day. Jessica linked to one of my very first blog posts, and I've been an avid follower of this style diary every since. She also always looks effortlessly fabulous. Damn her.

(8)  Design Sponge
God, where to start? Totally amazing site full of design and style inspiration. And real, honest, helpful advice for women in business.  Love love love love love this blog –
