A Short and Sassy Wedding Dress for a London Eye Wedding…

Good morning 🙂 Here's one for all you ladies who hanker after the short and sweet, as opposed to the long and floor sweeping kind of wedding dresses, courtesy of the lovely duo of Photographers that are Tino & Pip.

Bride Jillian married her beau Henry on 28 June 2011 at The London Eye.  What a spectacular location for a wedding! Deserved of a bit of a 'Wow!' factor dress.  And I just love how the low cut back, lace, pleats and daring hemline really make this dress something very special. This design is the silk dress by 3.1 Phillip Lim

"I have been trying on every single dress I could possibly find that caught my eye. Everything was beautiful but nothing gave me the feeling ‘this is the one’.

There were a few dresses that I loved but the time frame needed to custom make it to my size was not something I had enough time for as nothing off the rails fitted me! I saw this dress by chance when I was shopping once at Selfridges and it was love at first sight. There were a few good places that stocked the dress but finding a size 0 wasn’t easy! I have been looking for the correct size forever!! Finally found it on a US site and brought it to the most amazing alterations place London Fashion Workrooms whom managed to take in the dress and fit it to me so perfectly!"

I recognise those red soles!  Jillian wore a beautiful pair of Christian Louboutin heels from Harrods

" wanted a very simple pair of shoes, so that I could let the dress do all the talking – and this pair was perfect, matching my dress colour too…."

Jillian styled her own her and did her own makeup…

"I am not the best at make up or hair styling but I was comfortable to do my own. I just wanted to be natural and have my husband recognise me when he sees me!"

"The London Eye nominated Angel Flowers in Islington, as the florist and we had to use them as they were familiar with the layouts and have been working with the London Eye for many years. Sandra Walker, the point of contact was very friendly and wanted to make sure that we got what we want as well as providing her with her experience and suggestions.

I had faith roses in a simple hand tied bouquet…"

"My sister and Maid of Honour wore dresses from BCBGMaxaxria. It was clearly by chance that they both chose dresses from the same label…"

"One private capsule for an hour and five bottles of champagne to celebrate with the bride and groom with nineteen guests was perfect for a small wedding party for immediate families, maid of honour, best man and intimate friends. It was a close gathering of our most loved ones to witness our promises to each other.

We’re both Chinese from Hong Kong but have lived abroad for most of our lives. We wanted to have our wedding ceremony with our family and closest friends and followed by a massive wedding reception (Chinese banquet) with all the Chinese traditions in Hong Kong to following".

"Hummingbird Bakery – an American bakery, baked our cake, simply because I love chocolate cake and just wanted something not only to look nice but most importantly to taste good! I didn’t want anything with too much icing and I fell in love with their Chocolate Devil’s Food cake. I had it made in an ivory icing with dusty pink roses on and around the 2 cakes…"

Congratulations Jillian and Henry on your fabulously stylish wedding day, and huge thanks too to the lovely Martin and Penny of Tino & Pip Photography…

"Tino & Pip are brilliant! They are lovely and the friendliest people ever. I was very lucky to have them photograph the day. My sister had picked them out of a selection and they are so great to be around, no one felt awkward being photographed and they joined us for the meal after our ceremony.

When we were given the final photos on their website we couldn’t stop saying oos and ahs every single time we saw a picture as it made us remember and think back what it was like on the day. Everyone loved the photos. They were natural and captured the best in everyone. I like to call them those happy ‘Kodak moments."

I'd love to hear from other Brides looking to go super short on their wedding day 😉

Lots of love all,
