Morning everyone 🙂 I have a beautifully styled photoshoot to share and inspire you this morning, from a creative team that includes some wonderfully talented people, who were lead by Makeup Artist Catherine Hughes of Ivy Clara and Photographer Lorna Roberts, who shot these beautiful images.
Having worked together on numerous projects for the past six months,Lorna Roberts Photography and Ivy Clara Makeup and Styling recently combined their creative flair and put together their biggest shoot yet. To showcase their talents within the wedding industry, a ‘small styled’ bridal shoot, soon expanded into something neither of them expected. As they were chatting about their next shoot, the conversation quickly turned from ‘Do you think Charlotte Balbier would lend us some dresses?’, to ‘Do you think we could get a campervan as well’?! Before they knew it, they were trying to decide on a venue to hold their ‘small styled shoot’.
As the shoot grew, they both realised it would be a good way of networking with other suppliers within the industry. Everyone involved was amazing; the whole day worked out brilliantly and everyone just got stuck in, helping out where they could.

Lorna Roberts' shooting style is pretty relaxed and informal, and her aim is to put everyone at ease in front of the camera. All of Lorna’s shoots have a fashion edge to them and take place outside on location. Hair and make-up is an optional extra, as she finds women feel more comfortable and relaxed if they have been pampered a bit first! Lorna offers a range of photography services including wedding, lifestyle and portfolio; information for which can be found on her website.
With Lorna’s wedding packages, a pre-wedding shoot is always included, as this is a really good way to get to know the bride and groom before the big day. If a couple are unsure whether they want Lorna as their photographer, she also offers an engagement shoot; if they decide to go ahead and book her, the price of this is deductible against their chosen wedding package. Lorna always encourages any perspective brides to phone up and have a chat about their requirements.
Catherine Hughes of Ivy Clara tells us about the services she has available for Brides…
"I pride myself in providing an extensive bridal trial service, within which I trial and designs a made to measure finish, unique to each and every bride.
I document the trial with photographs, notes and sketches which I then send to my clients to keep. My trial service incorporates a personal analysis, bespoke makeup design and a lesson in application so the bride also leaves more confident in her own makeup application…"
It is amazing what a great makeover can do isn't it? Cripes there are days I don't have time to apply makeup before I step out of the house, but when I do, I feel so much more confident and ready to take on the world! … to coin a phrase of Catherine herself…
