Pale Pink and Pretty…

Afternoon all :)  Is this your first time by the blog in a few days? If so, make sure you check out this mornings wedding for something a little different in the bridal wear department 🙂

This afternoon I'm featuring the work of a Photographer I really love and admire, Debs Ivelja. Debs photographed the wedding of Mr & Mrs Mills on 14 May at Pipewell Hall in Northamptonshire and it was a day full of pastel pink pretty.

The Bride wore a Caroline Castigliano design, which she teamed with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels, of course 🙂

"It was the last dress I tried on, I loved the simplicity yet sheer elegance of the dress. It had a nod of Grace Kelly and I loved the silk organza skirt that swirled around me…"

Mary Woolcot Flowers was the couple's Florist…

"Mary had a great artistic eye and she understood my vision, we wanted seasonal flowers with a country feel, but still keeping them glamorous. So we had blowsy peonies and roses mixed in with wildflowers.

We had a mixture of large and small arrangements in the marquee. We sourced vintage crystal bowls for the low arrangements and had them lined with moss accented by antiqued silver pots with peony heads…"

The couple chose their venue, Pipewell Hall in Northamptonshire, because of it's perfect country location…

"Pipewell Hall in Northamptonshire is a beautifully refurbished Manor house that wasn’t too imposing and had the marquee overlooking the grounds. We also wanted something that wasn’t too far from the church…"

"We sourced lace table cloths, mercury glass votives that gave the most amazing glow after dark and a variety of lanterns. We also had bunting that we used for the marquee, cute chalkboard hearts and other props. Gareth being a computer programmer wanted to have his own techie project, so instead of the traditional table plan he dreamed up his very own system that could be used on his iPad. We had some beautiful custom escort cards with our silhouette's on made by Lucky Luxe, Gareth then added a radio-frequency ID tag to the back of each card. So when guests touched the iPad with their card a custom message and their table would flash up on the screen!"

"We had Couture Cakes produce our beautiful cake.

Having a sweet tooth the cake was one of the first things we chose, I had seen Katie’s work at a wedding fair and she had the most stunning designs. We chose a scalloped lace design that was similar to my dress, we had dusky pink ribbon, pearls and lace to complete the vintage look. The cake was delicious, the best moment for us was the day after, sitting in the airport lounge wolfing down a huge slice of our raspberry and amaretto wedding cake and reflecting on the wedding.."

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Reflect both of your styles and do a detailed running order for you and other suppliers so everyone knows when things are meant to be happening. Also don’t sweat the small stuff…just relax on the day and take all the love around you in…"

"My wedding dress was my main inspiration; it was so soft and romantic and had a Grace Kelly feel to it. Inspiration came from all different places, I have passion for ballet and I loved the muted pink hues and tulle to create a classic look for my bridesmaids. Other inspiration for the wedding came from Cecil Beaton portraits, filled with lace, pearls and timeless elegance…"
