Time for real wedding number two for today – I'm spoiling you as I have so many gorgeous days to share.
Lee and Dave had a delightful English country garden style wedding on 6 August this year, at Baslow Hall in Bakewel. Now I love this wedding for the pure photography; Leeds wedding photographer Cat Hepple captures all the right moments between this couple and I love the little bursts of colour provided by the summer garden florals.
Lee wore a dress that was designed by the lovely Charlotte Balbier, and purchased from Choola in Sheffield…
"I loved the lace detail and antique style. The fit was just so flattering too; it really suited my body shape. I knew I wanted something unique and timeless, and was so happy with my choice…"

"We used Sarah’s Florist on Middlewood road in Sheffield to supply our flowers – and I absolutely loved them. I wanted to use flowers that would fit the country garden theme and seem almost like wild flowers with all the colours of an English summer. I also opted for blousy peach roses to add to the shabby chic vibe…"
"I looked everywhere to find the perfect pair of wedding shoes, then I stumbled, randomly across a pair in Schuh that just fitted the bill…"
"I wore a beautiful antique pearl bracelet and earrings…"
Lee's Bridesmaid wore a fitted teal dresses with chiffon sleeve from Oasis…
"I had a gorgeous, intricate fabric flower attached to a hair comb that matched the fabric and gold accents of the dress…"
The Groom arrived in his boss’s 1968 vintage Mustang…
"We were both collected from the ceremony by limousine which was arranged as a surprise by Groom’s work colleagues…"
"My Dad, Trevor, who was very emotional and proud, walked me down the aisle to Clare de lune by Debussy…."
Oh Lee! This is one of my most favourite ever pieces of classical music! What a wonderful choice…
"We had known each other for a few years, we had the same group of friends and we are all really close but I (Dave) had a real soft spot for Lee. She was funny, witty, and intelligent and I just knew she was the one for me. I was the one making all of the moves and eventually Lee caved in and gave me a go..."
"The proposal was pretty fraught, I knew that I wanted to do it whilst on holiday in Malta but I didn’t have a clue where or when to do it but I was conscious that I didn’t want to do it in a clichéd fashion during a meal or surrounded by people.
Cue me carrying the engagement ring around with me everywhere we went and constantly being on edge. Eventually, eleven days in we found this cove surrounded by sheer cliffs to watch the sunset and it was perfect, I was so nervous I forgot to get down on one knee but Lee said yes immediately and then didn’t speak to me for 2 hours due to the shock. When she levelled out we celebrated – her in disbelief and me in relief…"
"We chose Baslow Hall in Bakewell to get married because we instantly fell in love with the venue. When we pulled up on the beautiful driveway we knew that it was the right place for us – it’s so characterful and unique. Beauchief Hotel for the evening reception because of the lovely terrace overlooking the river…"
"We wanted our wedding to feel personal and reflect our personality and things we like. I love the shabby chic theme and all things colourful and bohemian…."
"Baslow Hall needed no decorating. It was already perfect. However, I put a lot of effort into decorating Beauchief Hotel. I had bunting, paper garlands, lanterns, flamingo trees, lavender plants, pots of flowers and lots of candles. I also had mini hearts cut out of old love novels scattered on the tables with jugs of flowers…"
"My friends and I love baking, so I asked my nearest and dearest if they would supply one tasty cake each to add to our cake ‘stall’ at our evening reception for our guests to enjoy…"
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
"Stick closely to your budget. Do not succumb to pressure from family- stick to your own decisions – remember, this is YOUR day. Make lists for everything and use them constantly to keep up with everything. Pass lots of jobs on to family and friends – they usually like little bits of responsibility and it saves you having to do everything!"
Isn't this just a delightful wedding? Beautifully shot and beautiful happy people 🙂
Huge huge thanks to my lovely friend and Photographer Cat Hepple…
"Cat was a joy to work with. We are so happy with the pictures that she took. We can’t wait to see our finished album. She really captured the romance and happiness of the day."
Do I have any Charlotte Balbier Brides reading this post who are keen to share the excitement for their upcoming wedding? Which dress design have you gone for ladies?
Much love all – and yes, there's more wedding goodnesss to come yet! 😉
