Sneak Preview Of My Special Oxfam Weddings Project…

Good morning my loves 🙂 I have a little bit of exciting news to share this morning, but I'm going to pass over to my colleague Kate Kellaway Moore from Oxfam Weddings to do the talking.  If any of my readers have any questions about how they can get involved with this project after reading this feature, please email Kate directly

Oxfam Weddings are so excited to be working with Love My Dress on an exciting project, which, after a few months of talking about secretly, we can finally start to reveal…

I say start to reveal as unfortunately we aren’t able to give you all the juicy details quite yet, as we’ll be making a big announcement in the New Year, but we wanted to give you a sneak preview of what we’ve got in store to give you all a chance to get involved.

For all those that aren’t too familiar with Oxfam Weddings, we launched our weddings range a few years ago and through our Oxfam Unwrapped gift lists, wedding favours and donated designer  bridal collection, have raised over £2 million to help change the lives of vulnerable people living in poverty…

Working as part of the Oxfam Weddings team, the generosity of the world of weddings is something I find so humbling. Whether it is a couple opting for providing safe water for a poor community through our gift list rather than choosing things for their home, or a generous bride donating their gown to one of our  bridal shops, you don’t have to look very far to find people making a big difference as a result of their big day…

It’s not just newlyweds either, there are so many suppliers out there who continue to support our work through donations and, as a result, support our fight against poverty

So, we’re working on a campaign called “The Oxfam Wedding” that is going to bring all those generous donations from suppliers together in a week-long event to raise a world-changing amount for Oxfam’s projects

As part of our campaign, Annabel will be producing a very special photo shoot with all the donations and an amazing styling team of industry experts to be used throughout our media promotion. A team which so far includes  Eliza Claire photographing, Severin Hubert of Hepburn Collection styling hair, and Tiffany Grant Riley of Grant Riley Weddings styling.

We’ve got an amazing team of suppliers on board so far too, including Sassi Holford, Flo & Percy, Charlotte Balbier, Two birds Bridesmaid, Jo Barnes Vintage, Doris Designs Petticoats, Ian Stuart, Claire Pettibone, Suzannah, Chez Bec, Idylic days, Cherished Vintage, Emmy Bespoke Wedding Shoes, Tammam and Vicky Trainor to name just a few…

But that’s all we can say for now… because we like suspense!

If you are a supplier who wants to find out more than please get in touch and we’d be delighted to fill you in with more information about the event and how you can donate.

And if you’re planning a wedding for 2012 or 2013 then keep a look out on Love My Dress for a big announcement in the New Year.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!
