Reviewed and Recommended ~ The Ultimate Wedding App…

Having recently shared details with you about what I consider to be the best Wedding App for mobile devices on the market {yes, personally tried and tested by moi}, I thought it might be helpful to invite a reader to actually test and review the product and share her findings with my readers.  Say hello to Abigail Lumb everyone! She has kindly taken time to test The Ultimate Wedding App and share her thoughts below.  Thank you Abi! 😉

The Ultimate Wedding App is a premium, multi-platform wedding planning smartphone app for Android™, Blackberry®, iPhone® and Nokia. Packed with functionality it includes a Budget Tracker, Wedding Planner, Wedding Checklist, Guest Manager, Supplier Directory and a Wedding Event Schedule. It is fully customizable and with room for notes.  The App costs just £2.99, which is a bit of a steal really when you think about it.

Over to you Amy…

As I’m in the penultimate stages of organising my wedding (it’s less than a month away now) I’m quite far ahead with all my planning. I’ve enjoyed it, but even though I consider myself to be an organised person, it’s not been easy. I’ve got my trusty ipad by my side constantly, endless lists of notes, folders of emails from suppliers as well as lists of handwritten notes all jumbled around my flat.

I thought I had a system but there really is a lot to do and in some ways, it’s got the better of me. In this respect, I soooo wish that  I’d found Sarah Haywood's Ultimate Wedding App when I started planning eight months ago, as it’s like having a top wedding planner in your pocket – no exxageration…

The Ultimate Wedding App 3

Sarah really has thought of pretty much everything. I love that as well as being able to log and keep track of your wedding details all in one place you can also use it on the go. A bit of planning on the bus home from work never goes amiss. If you’re newly engaged and don’t know where to start, or even halfway through planning, this app is excellent for getting you on the right track.

Downloading the App was simple, it took a few seconds and I found it very easy to use. Throughout, Sarah has developed an incredibly comprehensive and informative app as well as peppering it with useful hints and tips from her own experience.

To begin with, the budget calculator is fantastic at keeping you on track with all your wedding spending. You’re able to log everything with a touch of a button, rather than using tedious spreadsheets. It also does all the maths for you so no human error or surprises further along down the line! My favourite feature was the checklist, as I’m a list fiend and, as the ultimate wedding app suggests, this is the ultimate list. One thing that I’ve found with my own wedding planning is that the order in which I did things ended up a bit out of sync (e.g.- I bought a lot of stuff before finalising the venue and  now I can’t use it all; I also bought two sets of bridesmaid dresses and I’m currently on my second pair of shoes and fourth headpiece…I know I sound mad but there’s just so much choice and I’ve found myself a little overwhelmed and rabbit-in-the headlights-esque at times).

The Ultimate Wedding App 2

I feel that with hindsight, I wish I had done some things differently, as this would perhaps have saved me time and money. With these checklists, all the items are in chronological order so if you follow it to a tee, you’re likely to avoid what I did and keep a level head without getting carried away and buying things you don’t need. Other useful features on the list include timelines, for when to get each task completed, and a ‘completed’ section to keep track of what you have done. The list is incredibly thorough, and is a fantastic starting point for any new bride or groom.

Another favourite feature was the ‘guests’ section. I found this part of the planning particularly stressful especially as both me and my husband-to-be have big families.

Until I downloaded this app my way of organising guests left something to be desired but now, having typed in a few bits of information with minimal effort I feel somewhat smug. This section deals with everything guest related, with RSVPs, addresses, meal preferences and allergies, and a box to add what wedding gift they bought you so you don’t forget those all important thank you letters. You can even send out emails straight from the app to your entire guest list, or send the guest list with all the relevant information to your caterers and venue. Genius!

The Ultimate Wedding App 1

I seriously love this Wedding App. There’s so many more features that I haven’t mentioned in detail – from the supplier list you can set up with those all important contact details, to a schedule of the actual wedding day, which has made me feel a lot calmer seeing it all in order. All of which I’m sure will become invaluable!  I’d welcome a section for the table plan as I’m doing this now and it does get complicated, and maybe a little black book of suppliers that Sarah as a wedding planner recommends with links to their websites and social networking sites

However overall, I’d wholeheartedly recommend this Wedding App, it’s really different to any other wedding planning app out there having tried a few. Newly engaged and veteran planners alike will get a lot of joy from it whilst also hopefully taking a bit of weight off their shoulders too.
