Britten Weddings ~ Online Wedding, Jewellery and Bridal Accessories Boutique…

Hello ladies and gents 🙂 Big sorry for the delay in the first blog post of today – a little glitch back at Love My Dress H.Q.  All nicely ironed out now, so lets move on! 😉

Please say hello this lunch time to my lovely new sponsor Sarah Jane – an accessory designer who’s boutique is called ‘Britten’. New readers should know that I have a strong passion of supporting small businesses, true artisans who enjoy making and creating beautiful things for your wedding day, so it’s a real delight and honour to have Sarah on board as a sponsor.

Sarah spends her time delicately hand-crafting beautiful ostrich, peacock and marabou feather fans, as well as deco inspired pursesstatement headbands and peacock hair combs, pearl garters and feather buttonholes.   Her work is inspired by bygone eras; the glitz of the 1920’s, the glamour of the 1930’s and ’40s and the girliness of the 1950’s

“I create all my pieces by hand from a tiny studio on the side of an ancient hillside just outside Bath.  Every single design is made to order from the finest materials- soft feathers, freshwater pearls, pure silk, vintage lace, shimmering seed beads and sparkling bugle beads.

Each and every piece is precious to me and I meticulously ensure it is 100% perfect before it is beautifully packaged and posted…”

I love that Sarah sits hand making each piece from a tiny studio in Bath – I adore the sense that each individual piece is made with such dedication and love…

“I’m 100% committed to providing the best service I can to my brides and grooms. My customer service is just as important to me as the designs…”

“After studying design at London College of Fashion and focussing on accessory design at Cordwainers College I set up Britten in 2010. Britten originally specialised in handbags and accessories handcrafted from British leather (available in our ‘Gifts section’ on Britten Weddings)..”

I soon found myself designing flapper style head dresses and tiny beaded evening bags.

I realised that weddings would provide the perfect market for my style and passion; a love of timeless glamour and accessory design…”

“Every single design is made to order, this means I can easily create a custom piece, whether a different colour, size or arrangement. I also adore working on totally bespoke pieces, most recently I have worked with a bride and groom to create a unique collection.

The bride has chosen a china blue ostrich feather fan with a piece of her Grandmother’s jewellery incorporated into the embellishment. The groom, best man and bridesmaids have matching buttonholes and haircombs. I can’t wait to see the pictures!”

“My pieces range from £28 for a feather buttonhole to £368 for a deco inspired beaded purse.

Custom packages are available for bridesmaids, groomsmen or your entire bridal party…”

My favourite piece? The most expensive one. Of course.  Just utterly adore it.

If you are interested in making an enquiry about any piece, please email Sarah directly, also visit the Britten Weddings website. And Britten can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.

Who’s going for the that beautiful ostrich feather fan that Sarah is making above there?
