Afternoon my loves. The wedding I'm featuring this afternoon wasn't accepted on a submission basis because it is full of beautiful detail shots or table decor or venue ideas. It was simply because I fell in love with these images for the portrait and people shots they included.
I just adore the work of Photographer Ed Peers. Ed seems to be able to capture those precious, fleeting few seconds and moments when a couple really connect with each other for the camera. I always think that when a set of images of two people you have never met before moves you or stirs emotion in some way, then the photographer has done the best ever job. Ed is one of these photographers and I hope that you enjoy looking through these photographs that he took of couple Ian and Mari and their wedding in July last year.
Ian & Mari chose the Restaurant Rustholli in Tampere, Finland as their wedding venue, for its serenity and beautiful lake-side view. The couple were looking for a venue with a typical Finnish country feel to it, as they wanted to avoid a grandiose style wedding.
"It’s a simple, elegant dress and fitted the relaxed theme of the wedding. The material used was silk and I loved the feel on my skin…."

Mari wore a simple fresh water pearl necklace – a gift from her fiancee and an aquamarine and diamond earrings bought from New York, along with a Kalevala bracelet…
"My white bouquet and flower decorations were arranged last minute from Sokos without much planning…"
We are both practising Christians and we wanted that to influence the ceremony and reception. We strictly invited only our closest friends and family, as we wanted the wedding to be small and personal…"
Mari walked down the aisle to one of my favourite ever sons, ‘Skinny love’ by Bon Iver..
These last few shots are just so beautiful. The whole scene looks so serene and peaceful…
Words of Wedded Wisdom?
"Start planning early – and delegate!"
Simple and yet so incredibly beautiful.
I'd love love love to hear if any of my readers are planning a destination wedding, maybe one in Finland! I do get Finnish readers according to my Google Analytics, and these photographs by Ed Peers have made me want to visit more than ever.
Hope you're all having a lovely afternoon everyone.
