Rachel Drewer Millinery ~ Bright Young Things, 2012…

A late edition to the suite of blog posts today my loves but I couldn't wait to share this set of images by photographers Angela Ward-Brown & Ina Halsor any longer with you, as they showcase a wonderful collection of new designs by milliner Rachel Drewer.

I adore that this shoot took inspiration from 'the bright young things' of the late 1920's and 1930's, those carefree 20-something London aristocrats and bohemians of the time who influenced writers and photographers of the time.  If you haven't seen the film by the way, you should, it's a fascinating.

Taking inspiration from F. Scott Fitzgerald, Evelyn Waugh and Cecil Beaton's decadent depictions of the 1930's, ‘Bright Young Things’ is a fanciful bridal story, combining vintage and contemporary notes and the talents of a creative collective based in the South of the UK.  Oh how I adore that first headpiece below!

This photoshoot was set in the surrounds of Hill Place, a beautiful Georgian villa deep in rural Hampshire – a perfect backdrop for this particular shoot.  Milliner Rachel Drewer, fashion editor Sarah-Leigh Wade and photographer Angela Ward-Brown first began working together on fashion photo shoots in late 2011. To complete their most recent wistful bridal vision they joined forces with fellow photographer Ina Halsor and make-up artists Victoria Brown & Amy Cal

In keeping with the 1930's theme, the array of vintage and contemporary gowns and accessories were supplied by Hepwrights Vintage & Shay Harris Bridal Lounge.

Exquisite pieces from Rachel’s Radiance Bridal Collection formed a focal point of the story; each look was created with ideas for the fashion-forward bride with timeless appeal in mind…
