Oh how I do adore helping to raise the profile of talented designers in this country, who I just know my readers will love too!
This afternoon's blog post features the work of talented accessories designer, Victoria Mallinson, the founder of Victoria Mary Vintage. Inspired by the romance of days gone by and timeless, feminine French couture, Victoria's new 'Millésime' range is a 46-piece collection of statement headdresses, bridal caps, sashes and jewellery. And I am in love…

Millésime, nine months in the making, will be the leading range for Victoria Mary Vintage offering beautiful handmade bridal accessories with soft millinery and floral influences and a hint of Jazz Age sparkle.
I am so proud of the new collection: countless days working into the small hours of the morning, many hours making small tweaks and adjustments to designs to get every element of the 46-piece collection just right. I couldn’t think of a better place than Love My Dress to launch the collection – the incredibly beautiful images captured by Hannah Mia Photography seem to just belong on these pages…
When I was looking for a photographer to shoot the Millésime collection, I spent many hours browsing online for the perfect photographer – I knew exactly what I wanted, and when I came across Hannah Mia’s site, I knew she would be just perfect. Her soft, romantic style exactly captured the look I wanted for the collection, so I contacted her and was thrilled when she agreed to do the shoot! When she sent me the photo of Lora as a suggestion for our model, I knew she was completely in tune with the images I had in my mind. Lora’s beautiful, porcelain face is framed gorgeously by her auburn curls and complements the accessories perfectly, as if she was made for it!
As always with shoots, we spent a very busy next few months organising the venue, suppliers and styling details. The venue, One Marylebone, was a perfect back-drop for the shoot – we were looking for a simple background with beautiful architectural features and the gorgeous, light-filled space at One Marylebone didn’t let us down! Alicia was incredibly helpful and welcoming both leading up to the shoot and on the day.
We had such a fabulous team – everything went really smoothly and we all had a brilliant day. We chose a beautiful, classic ivory silk A-line dress from Kate Edmondson Bridal Couture which really set off the accessories and looked perfect against Lora’s colouring. Haley King created Lora’s perfect curls, Calvin Todd-Heppell worked magic on her make-up (those lashes!) and our styling assistant Anna from Far From the Wedding Crowd was invaluable on the day. The soft, paper bouquets from Paper Me Happy were the perfect finishing touch.
I couldn't be happier with the results of the shoot – all the photos are simply stunning, but my personal favourite are the shots of the Jazz Age Sparkle and Feather Vintage Bridal Cap, the Lace and Pearl Bridal Cap and the Bohemia Pearl and Bronze Bridal Crown…
