The Kaiser Cardiomyopathy Challenge ~ Please Read….

If I can encourage you to do anything this weekend, please, I would love for you to take just a few minutes out of your time to visit this site and if you could, to also donate a few pennies to support the exceptionally brave and courageous Sarah Hoare in her efforts to raise money for The Kaiser Challenge.  I learned about the Kaiser Challenge after receiving the following email yesterday morning {thanks to the boys over at Staggered for forwarding it on}…

Hi All

My name is Sarah Hoare and I lost my beautiful fiancé, Alex Kaiser, unexpectedly at the end of last month, eight weeks from our wedding which was going to be held in a field on my family's farm and we had been planning for the last year and a half. Now instead of our wedding day I am arranging a celebration of his life to take place on the same date, in the same field.

This evening will mark the finish line of The Kaiser Cardiomyopathy Challenge – a 200 mile cycle ride I and 44 other cyclists are doing over three days in a bid to raise £20,000 for the Cardiomyopathy Association and Cardiac Risk in the Young. Many of us haven't been on a bike on years, or don't even own one, and so this is going to be a huge challenge, both emotionally and physically, but taking inspirations from the way Alex led his life, I am positive that we can all achieve it.

Please take a moment to read the website, and then anything you can do to help raise awareness and support us reaching our target would be so very much appreciated…Even if you can't repost, please feel free to donate!

Fact: Cardiomyopathy is the biggest medical cause of sudden death in under 35s and as many as 1 in 500 people are affected but don't know.

Many thanks

Most of you visiting this blog are doing so to find inspiration in planning your wedding. A beautiful, exciting, fun time of your life.  I can't possibly imagine what Sarah is going through right now, but what I do know is that I want to help her raise awareness of this awful condition and I want to support her in her wonderfully brave attempts to turn such a tragic situation in to something positive.

Sarah told me…

"Thank you so much for your support, it means the world. I will add your link to the site and am overwhelmed at your kindness to dedicate the blog to the cause tomorrow. Kaiser was someone who always saw the good in people and had their best interests at heart and I think this his karma – I just wish he could be here to see it."

Please visit www.thekaiserchallenge.com today if you have a few spare minutes.  Sarah can be contacted via email too.

And Sarah, huge good luck!

Thank you so much everyone,

Annabel
