‘Breakfast at Grandma’s’ ~ A Relaxed, Elegant, Vintage Inspired Wedding in Brazil…

Hello lovelies,  It always warms my heart to discover how Love My Dress is influencing brides not just in the UK but across the globe too. Brazilian bride Rejianne tied the knot with her fiance Silvio on 7 March 2011 with a heartfelt ceremony inspired by her Grandma.

Not having many resources to draw inspiration to style her wedding from in her home country, she soon discovered Love My Dress and was smitten – and that makes me happy…

"I'm from Northern Brazil and my husband Silvio is from the South. We met when I visited his city in 2009. We had a long distance relationship for more than a year before we decided to get married.

Weddings and wedding ceremonies are still uncommon in Brazil.  Most weddings our country happen at night and are quite sophisticated events. In recent years however, foreign influence from blogs like Love My Dress have inspired many people like my fiancé and I to have a less elaborate and more fun, personal celebration…."

"Finding suppliers receptive to the kind of event styling we wanted for our wedding is difficult in Brazil, and so I ended up styling most of my wedding myself.  As a result of so doing, I have now established my very own Brazilian event styling company, so that I can help other couples like ourselves, who are seeking a more relaxed, elegant, vintage inspired kind of wedding…"

The prettiest fabric based wedding invitations, made by the bride herself {by the way readers, those of you looking for something similar in the UK, should contact designer Vicky Trainor, she makes the most beautiful vintage inspied fabric stationery ever…}

"I couldn't find a wedding dress that I liked, no matter how hard I looked, so I set about designing one myself, inspired by my research of shapes and styles that I loved on the Internet.  I purchased the fabric and hired a seamstress to create the dress itself.  She had to dye the fabric to make it a more retro, oyster kind of color – just as I wanted it.

I loved my wedding dress because of its lightness and romanticism due to the combination of fine fabrics, lace and pearls. I also liked its retro look…"

"I became a little obsessed with cupcakes when planing our wedding!  But as I wanted to make reference to my hometown, we replaced the cupcakes with honey-buns stuffed with sweet milk and nuts, which are traditional in my hometown.

The cake top was purchased at a bakery. It was not commissioned. It was a real last minute purchase…"

"I had no preference for a specific type of flowers, but I had a preference for colorful and cheerful flowers, so the florist showed me the best flowers of the season.

For the bouquet, I chose lilies that matched the color of the flowers in my hair…."

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Try to plan the wedding in advance, because planning the wedding of your dreams can take a lot of time – but really, if you don't have the time, don't worry to much and definitely don't panic…."

What a beautifully inspiring wedding – thank you so much Rejianne for sharing so many lovely details about your beautiful day – congratulations to you and Silvio.  Huge thanks also to photographers Meliess for sharing these images…

"I love photography, but I wasn't familiar with any of the photographers of the city where the wedding would be held – and that worried me a lot.  If I hired someone to come from another state would make the service more expensive?  I was extremely happy when, at just over one month away from our  marriage, I discovered the work of Meliess.Photographers Marina and Anderson produce the most beautiful, delicate and poetic work and we are thrilled with the results…"

I don't often feature weddings from overseas on Love My Dress, but as I say it warms my heart to know that the appeal of this wedding blog is stretching far and wide, and I hope that my regular readers have enjoyed these photographs and can draw some inspiration from these beautiful images.

Have a lovely evening all :),

Much love,

Annabel
