All You Need Is Love ~ A Pretty, Purple, Lesbian Wedding

…love is all you need. Sometimes my friends, I fall for wedding submissions purely because of the look of love evident in the photographs between the couple getting married. Forget sparkly accessories, veils, fancy shoes. There will be no long supplier list for this wedding.  Forget the hours spent on detail and decor, the fancy stationery. There’s nothing wrong with any of these – I promote them almost every day, but every once in a while, a wedding comes a long and warms my heart purely for the way the couple are looking at one another.  You know, that look that says – I know you’ve got my back, I know you really will stick with me through thick and thin – I know you love and adore me just as much as I do you. Love wins. Love is love.

Last month, I featured the first ever Civil Partnership Ceremony on Love My Dress {it was wonderful, do go and take a look}.  Today, I’m featuring the second.

There aren’t many photographs.  There doesn’t need to be. That look, that hug, that smile – these are the images that made me want to share this wedding with you…

Civil Partnership Wedding - The Power Of Love...

Emma and Kate tied the knot on 7 June this year at Ox Pasture Hall in Scarborough…

“We chose Ox Pasture Hall because as soon as we saw it we knew its was the place we wanted to get married with the lovely grounds and the intimate feel you get inside…”

Civil Partnership Wedding - The Power Of Love...

Both ladies purchased their dresses from Debenhams, pretty purple designs with no extras by way of veils or accessories.  I adore how these ladies kept it simple, kept the focus of the day on their love for one another…

“We chose purple and white as colours to guide the styling for the day – our dresses were purple and so our day worked around this colour…”

Civil Partnership Wedding - The Power Of Love...

“We met at Reading University nearly five years ago. When I proposed to Kate I lined the hallway with candles and flowers which pointed into an arrow (the pointed towards the room where I had prepared a table with flowers and the engagment ring was in the middle of the table).

After I proposed I cooked a three course meal of all Kate’s favourite meals….”

“Our Cake was from the Yorkshire store, Cooplands – it was a white square cake with small lilac flowers in each corner. We chose this cake as we wanted something small and elegant…”

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

“Relax and enjoy the day as it goes so quickly and search around for wedding favours and table accessories because there are some hidden gems on the internet.”

Civil Partnership Wedding - The Power Of Love...

It’s just lovely – a post that brings me back to the focus of what I’m doing, a simple celebration of deep love. How can you not feel happy for these lovely ladies when looking at these photographs?

Emma, Kate – congratulations my loves! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and pretty purple together 🙂 Huge thanks to York Place Studios for sharing these heart-warming images too…

York Place Studios made our day complete with their mixture of informal and formal photos. They made us feel really at ease…”

Every once in a while, I like to step away from the wedding carnival and world of glamour and focus on what really matters – that thing called love.

I’d love some feedback on this feature, and perhaps this post can serve as a reminder for you to focus on your vows and the reason you’re getting married, if you’re particularly stressed out with planning your own big day right now!

Lots and lots of love all,

Annabel
