What is it that makes a Parisian lady so effortlessly chic? Whatever it is, I’d like to bottle a whole lot of it and take a daily sip of it.

This beautiful lady in black is Audrey.  Audrey is a Photographer who lives in Paris with her American husband…

Like all Parisian ladies, style comes effortlessly to Audrey; she enjoys photographing weddings and boudoir in fashion spread style, and she does so very beautifully, go and see for yourself.

And the hair. Oh, the beautiful, wonderful hair *cue, a million new wedding hair trial requests*

Audrey turned 30 this year and decided she wanted to mark the occasion in style, treating herself to a chic birthday celebration wtih her closest girlfriends.

Polly Alexandre shared more with me…

“When it came to Audrey’s 30th birthday party, she decided to mark it in style. A quintessential Parisian woman, she used her creativity to produce this perfect little celebration…”

Audrey commissioned some beautiful hand calligraphy for invites, and little party signs –  ‘Time to Shine’ & ‘Joyeaux Anniversaire’, hired a suite at a beautiful hotel, a friend made a gorgeous cake, decorated the suite with antiques and beautiful flowers with the help of some friends then invited a bunch of her best friends to drink champagne…”

“We spent the afternoon shooting on the streets of Paris for Audrey to have photographs that captured this personal milestone, then her cocktail reception in the suite with a bunch of friends before going on to a chic Parisian restaurant for a fine meal and dancing…”

  1. This is how I think me and my life look in my head… but sadly isn’t probably what other people see. Ahhh so fabulous! Tres, tres bon!

  2. Ahh, this is such a beautiful way to remember your 30th birthday…or any milestone for that matter. Everything looks so stunningly elegant and I love the idea of having it all filmed. Wish I’d thought of this for my 30th!

  3. I have created a similar hairstyle via my Pinterest! Oh your 30th is next month Annabel!? Oh How Exciting! I will just be married( hopefully) by the time I’m celebrating my 30th, the celebration will probably be the honeymoon 🙂 Beautiful cake and hotel x

  4. oh golly-it certainly puts the average british 30th celebration to shame. i dont remember much about my own so that says a lot really! a stunning back drop for a really stunning birthday girl. tres chic 😉 xx

  5. I don’t turn thirty for another year and a half, but since my wedding, I’ve been sort of looking forward to it, so I can plan a big bash and I love the chic/parisian idea. This shoot is gorgeous, love the cake, the flowers, the dress and the hair!

  6. Gaaaahhhh, anyone else feeling inadequate that people actually live like this? I wouldn’t have believed this was anything other than a stylist’s fantasy unless I’d seen the evidence!
I hired a big house in the country and cooked for all my friends. Cooking in an Aga for the first time for a couple of dozen friends is not a recipe for a stressfree or glamorous birthday!

  7. Absolutely – beautifully elegant, creative and inspiring too. I agree with Amanda it looks like a stylist’s fantasy – but in such a lovely way!
I have my own equivalent of the calligraphy signs for every day use… they’re all over my cupboards, little handwritten gift tags which say things like “cat food cupboard”, “stationery I don’t use” and “miscellaneous wires drawer”.
*it was a quiet day in the studio, that day. hehe!
