How did Froufrou Bridal come about/ how did you get into the wedding industry?
"Nicole and I had always dreamed about running our own business together, but we never thought that it would become a reality. We both finished school and went in different directions, Nicole to study Graphic Design at University, while I headed for London College of Fashion to study Fashion Styling. Our career paths have given us a wealth of experience and wide range of skills in different areas from Fashion Photography and Set Design to Hair, Make-up and Styling…"

"Prior to having children my last job was working in a Bridal Boutique, and that was that! I had finally found a job that captured all the things I loved doing most! It was not hard to persuade Nicole that this was what we should do, and putting our skills together gave us a very strong foundation to base the business on.

I don't really know how we got to this point everything else just snowballed. Luckily for us, now we are the proud owners of a stunning boutique providing brides after something a little more individual with a touch of FrouFrou!"

What’s special about your boutique? What can a bride expect from her time with you?
"I think the most special thing about our boutique is that it is unique. A lot of love went into sourcing everything from our chandelier to our slippers and I think we have created an eclectic mix of old and new to give brides beautiful surroundings and inspiration for choosing the dress of their dreams. A home from home where the bride and her guests can relax.

An appointment at FrouFrou Bridal will give brides to be a stunning collection of hand picked gowns and accessories as well as invaluable styling advice to make sure that each bride leaves with a dress that has been individually styled to suit them and their big day! Of course cupcakes and champagne go without saying…"

What do you love about your job?
"We love seeing photos of our brides weddings, it makes us really proud to see the bride looking so radiant and happy knowing that we had just a little part of making the most important day of their life perfect for them.

We also love how positive the job is, getting married is such an exciting part of peoples lives and everyone has their own story. We are privelidged to be immersed in their excitement and to enjoy their journey up until the big day!"

What inspires you when it comes to your work? Which designers/artists to your admire and why?
"We find inspiration everywhere, being such a social industry the people we meet are so unique and everyone has their own idea about what fashion is to them. We love the way fashion from the byegone eras continues to be a huge influence on the evolving bridal trends. Timeless classics are reinvented time and time again.

Of course we have our lust after designers in the bridal industry and these are Vera Wang and Alice Temperley! We love how with each season Vera continues to surprise with her choice of colours and experimentation with fabrics. With Temperley it is always exciting to see what embellishment and decorative techniques they come up with on their amazing gowns."

How would you describe a Froufrou bride?
"We at Froufrou inspire to bring out style and creativity in every bride. A FrouFrou Bridal bride does not follow the crowd, she is style-conscious but not slavishly fashionable, and prefers to create a truly individual bridal look."

Can you provide a price guide?
"Dresses range from around £1200 to £3500. All prices include the costs of alterations.

If you weren't running a successful bridal boutique, what would you be doing?
"Helena- although it sounds very strange I would have to say I would be a midwife. I always think this is something I would love to do, I don't think much could come close to being as special as delivering a baby!  Nicole- Set design has always been a passion of mine, having been part of many fashion and advertising shoots I have always loved to be hands on and am sure this would have been the path I followed if I hadn't ended up here at FrouFrou!"
