An Anglo-American Vintage Love Story ~ Afternoon tea in Central Park…

Good morning lovers!I hope you had a lovely weekend and caught some sun? It was a bit of a mixed bag here in the North of England, it's raining whilst sunny right now for instance – I'm watching out for a rainbow.

These photographs must be the most delightful way to open up the week of inspiration on Love My Dress and I'm super thrilled that the Foley Photography chose to submit these sweet images to Love My Dress.

One sunny afternoon in New York, an English gent and his American bride celebrate their wedding with vintage style against the stunning backdrop of Central Park – so unfolds a sweet and beautiful inspiration shoot.  This story was created by iconic bridal Boutique Mill Crest Vintage and creative British photographers Amedea and Scott from Foley Photography, who wanted to create something different, combining a vision of English afternoon tea and floral vintage style with and the most iconic locations that Central Park had to offer…

“Central Park was an ideal setting to create a vintage look with a dreamy, romantic feel, we wanted to give brides inspiration and ideas they could bring to their own wedding day…”

On the day, this brilliant team of stylists transformed Tiffaney Springer-Williams and her husband, Ben Williams into a gorgeous vintage wedding couple.  The bride, dressed in an authentic 1960's Silk Organza Pink Floral Appliquéd Vintage Wedding Gown and her groom in a co-ordinating suit and tie, enjoyed a sojourn into Central Park for afternoon tea and cake.

Paula Cooperman of Mill Crest Vintage first conceived the idea as a way to offer one of her former bridal clients a glorious day of pampering to celebrate their first anniversary. She approached Scott and Amedea of Foley Photography to deliver the shoot after being wowed by their quirky British vintage style, and so began months of cross-Atlantic creative vision and planning…

Ahh, I love a pair of little white gloves.  Gloves like this were hugely popular in the 50's and 60's – it was also popular to wear operatic gloves in the 60's with a shorter dress, and brides started to wear their rings outside their gloves like Tiffaney here…

Scott of Foley Photography told me…

“When Mill Crest Vintage told us about the project, we couldn’t wait to help them execute this vision, celebrating the style and culture of both Britain and the US. In the Queen’s Jubilee Diamond Year there has been such a celebration of vintage style in the UK. We wanted to bring a sense of Englishness to the iconic setting of Central Park. Sunshine, afternoon tea, romance, and effortless style and grace.”

How sweet is this?  Makes me long to be sat back in central park watching the birds and squirrels and soaking in that little bit of green paradise in the heart of one of the most amazing cities in the world!

The creative collective behind these images have since been working together on another creative project and will showcase their images later this year – and that will hopefully be via these very pages 😉

Anyone planning a romantic trip to NYC?

Much love all,

Annabel
